Roy Keane claims we have been "brainwashed" into believing the Premier League is Europe's finest

Maybe Keane made this statement not only because of this season, but also last season when there were 0 EPL teams in the last 8 and the season before only one EPL teams in the last 8.

Some EPL fans act as if 3 of their teams still make the semis of the CL. Those days are long over.

I don't understand how there are people who think the Premier League has the most depth, or the most quality from top to bottom.

Don't every team in the bottom-half of the Premier League play terrible, bland football, or am I missing something?   

Fulham, Cardiff City, Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion, Crystal Palace, Stoke City, Norwich City, Aston Villa, Swansea City, Hull City, West Ham United...you might as well add Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Tottenham to that list too.

Where's the quality from top to bottom?

Also it's just the top 3, it's the entire league. There's just more top teams in the PL compared to La Liga. Real Madrid/Barca are better than any PL team, but this more about overall. Also more about the last decade or so, just to show consistency, not just this season.

The likes of Valencia/Villarreal were never as good as Chelsea/Man Utd/Arsenal/Liverpool/Man City. Sure they had good form for a while, but those PL clubs are bigger.

-Nor does reputation, that is what Serie A fans use to curry their debate yet it is invalid.

-Better players? You mean by name or actual ability? I don't see such a stark difference even if it is deemed subjective.

Valencia and Villarreal were never as good as the mentioned teams? How long have you been watching? Do you not remember Valencia of the recent years or Villarreal under Pellegrini?

You're not showing any concrete basis on why it is superior, instead resorting to the usual guff what PL pundits resort to.

I remember Valencia getting smashed by Swansea a few weeks ago. And when did Fulham destroy and dump Juventus out of the Europa league again?

Oh yeah you remember correctly.You forgot to mention how Valencai finished first and Swansea 2nd though.

I remember the days when the epl teams was owning the cl some years back, the hype surrounding the league then was crazy, but now that they are losing again it shouldn't count .

what this competitiveness you guys speak of? if it wasn't for mancity $$ the winners of the league was always between chelsea and manu. Pool ain't won the league in 20 yrs, arsenal 10 yrs and spurs and the other bottom feeders definitely ain't winning bleep, again it looks nice but the winners of the league before city was chelsea or manu.

Utd have won the PL in as often in the last 10 years as we have the Bundesliga.. oh well that statistic is not going to work in 10 years anymore

You seem very agitated. Swansea defeated Valencia not a "few weeks ago", more like five months ago. The match made no difference as Valencia easily finished at the top of the group -- it's worth noting that the time of the 0:3 loss, Valencia were in relegation form.

If you really think Fulham destroyed Juventus, you must have no memory of the match. Considering how you continue to harp on about the English teams being red carded, you should see the irony within your post. Especially when Juventus' red card -- as well as the penalty call on Diego -- were wrong decisions that completely changed the tie.
