If City win the league is this the biggest choke job in Premier League history?

7 point lead over City on April 13th and 6 point lead with 3 games left.

Manchester United had an 8 point lead over City on 2011/12. That was on level to this. And Newcastle's one was worse.

This is going to be a choke either way. Either City is going to win or Liverpool if City choke against West Ham or Aston Villa

Yeah I don't think it's all that bad. It's jus made worse by the fact they haven't won the league in over 20 years.

United collapse a few years ago was worse single season wise but nobody really cared all that much because they've won so many league titles

eh? City has been carrying up to 3 games in hand for months now. Liverpool only was up 3 points at one point recently, had been trailing all the time before, if I'm not mistaken.

Arsenal have done a bigger choke job this seasons when you consider they've spent more rounds at #1 than any other team. Also Arsenal in 07/08.

It took us 11 straight wins to get to the top and one loss to lose the top place. City having atleast 2-3 games and a superior GD in hand through out as well.

Not really considering at that point City had 3 matches in hand...

April 13th was Matchday 34. Liverpool had 77 points. When City played their 34th game they had 74 points. So they were only down 3 points at that time, hardly a huge choke job, although a slight choke it was.

In any case the entire scheduling screw ups for the EPL has ruined all sense of suspense for me. You should go into the last 10 matches of the league with all teams on equal footing, not with some having played 3 games less than everyone else... amateur organization.

Like people are pointing out, City had games in hand (two or three?).

It is for me. Never seen a team bottle like this in history. We should have expected it as they are not used to winning big titles.

Aston Villa are a mediocre team lead by a mediocre manager.

Yeah, you're right, we needed to get something from the Chelsea game. Then we would have closed up shop in this game when 3 - 0 up, now we wanted to keep on attacking because of the goal-difference.
