I think that can only harm us. We have been playing in a certain style for some time and getting good results steadily. Trying to do something different so late will confuse the players more than trouble the opposition.

That will be covering your weakness with another weakness. I think better cover that with strength...

I think 3 CB formations are only for using maybe some time in the second half when it becomes vital to protect a lead. If we start even one match like that no matter who the opponent I will be both surprised and disappointed.

From the big boss and rival legend....i hope it gears him up

Brazil legend Ronaldo has claimed that Lionel Messi is a legend already, even if he doesn’t win the World Cup this summer.

The Argentina international has been criticised by some for not repeating his Barcelona form for the national team.

But the World Cup’s leading goalscorer has insisted that the former Ballon d’Or winner has already done enough to be considered one of the greats.

“He can win that [the World Cup]. He has not retired yet, has he? And he is only 26,” Ronaldo told the Times of India.

“Moreover, in the history of football, there are players who did not win the World Cup but are considered as great as any other footballer.

“If you win the World Cup, it gives your status a boost. However, if you cannot, you can still be among the all-time best.

“I saw him [Messi] in Barcelona in his early years there and spoke about him with Ronaldinho. Ronaldinho was full of praise for the boy and when we saw him, we knew why Ronaldinho was so appreciative.

“Messi is really a different class. To win four consecutive Ballon d'Ors is a great achievement.”

Gago's like penthouse president suite, more suitable to calling a hooker or 2 up there for to share with Razz

Tevez as camera man was funny. Gago's room not so much. Shall we get back to discussing the Argentina team on this thread?

Was watching the highlights of the 2006 QF bottling to Germans and what a bottling that was. aaaargh!..

We had the team then to go all the way. Even defence was good (for a surprise) and we had the wizard  Riquelme with us as well.
But Pekerman... Mad ohhhhhh undoing everything in a single moment of madness by subbing off the best player on the pitch and suddenly shifting to ultra defence mode with about 15 minutes still remaining. Rolling Eyes
Just gifted the game to Germany who Riquelme toyed with until then at their own backyard.

Yep. That 2006 Argentina team was breathtaking, and we were underdogs on every level except home momentum.

He subbed of Riquelme right?, he was thinking you had won the game after completely dominating us.

Argentina's rumored team for tonight:

Romero
Zabaleta - Fernandez - Garay - Campagnaro - Rojo
Maxi - Masche - Di Maria
Messi - Aguero

We're going for 5-3-2 because that's what we used vs Bosnia 8 months ago and it worked.

Gago was injured for 2 months before the WC. He flopped in the friendly against Slovenia which was due mostly to his recent lack of contact with the ball.

That being said I have no idea why Maxi is the one to replace him... should be Enzo or Biglia.
