Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
I'd be very disappointed if you went into this season having not bought any b2bs just cuz lvg doesn't seem to rate Khedira (all his coaches love him). He is going to be very cheap too so you can always bring in someone else next summer if it didn't work out
Khedira has refused to extend so he will go for free next season, I am sure we'd be in favour of selling him rather than let him go for free. We are adamant on self destructing so losing Khedira and buying noone is exactly what I expect us to do.
Imagine a 4-3-3 with him
Or if Hererra gets injured
That should definitely be able to get into top four

I don't know why he doesn't want Khedira, I would take him, hell I'd take Lee Clattermole, but one thing I've learned is van Gaal has very specific wants from his players. Rojo, for example, fit the 'profile' left footed CB that can also play LB, hence why we went for Vermaelen too.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Mata would have to adapt to a different position. He and Januzaj can fight it out for that RW role. He can't defend so can't play in the midfield, has never played lw and striker is not for him. Either he plays rw or he sits on the bench kagawa style

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Unless we play a diamond, we can't fit everyone in. There's also the problem that :
is a very slow frontline. If we play 4-3-3, someone has to get benched, Mata seems the most likely.

De Telegraaf and Daily Mail both saying we've agreed to sign Daley Blind for £14 mil. Most importantly, he favorited a tweet linking him to us.

Sky sources understand Ajax have given Manchester United permission to hold talks with defender Daley Blind.

I don't really get it. Is that now the 3rd player who's main position is left back, that your buying in the same window?
Guess he's supposed to be a DM for you, but is this really the best you can do? Not exactly cheap either..

No, Blind is like Lahm, De Boer converted him into a holding player last season, before that he played LB. I will be disappointed if this signing is more than depth. The price doesn't really matter.

Btw, Rojo's main position is also CB, not LB. They're just versatile.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Pleased with the signing. Welcome Blind.
He is more suited as a DM. From what I've read, he started out as a LB but excelled as a DM.
Really versatile too, could play in a number of positions- CDM,LB,CB,RM,LM Not bad.
Now if we can just squeeze one more signing. I have a feeling maybe one more will be coming in, deadline day last min type of thing.
As LVG says "We shall see"

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Woodward has been surprisingly prolific this transfer window, having brought in Herrera, Shaw, Rojo, Di Maria, and Blind. But I'm still highly unsatisfied that Herrera is the only pure CM we've signed.

Rojo will play as a center back or left center back; Shaw will be a wingback or a left back and Blind is a more versatile player so he will play where he will be needed to. Louis van Gaal thinks that Blind and Rojo will help Man United's squad to achieve great performances and fulfill his expectations to rise again with his philosophy. We shall have patience and see. It's simple, what's wrong with you?

Blind's in. Woodward
Now sell Cleverley for monies pls, maybe you can find a team that wants Fletcher too.
I like the versatility our signings this window have, actually. We can at least move them around depending on who's healthy/in form at the moment, and they won't look like total garbage
Gone are the days we'll play Carrick at CB

At 33 he's no good. Better get rid of him too.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
If Falcao goes to City, which is very likely right now, it looks like Negredo will be off to Valencia. So it looks like they've given up on Hernandez, which makes it likely he's off to Juve.

Real Madrid joins the race for Hernandez
Real Madrid has decided to join the race to acquire Chicharito Hernandez. Carlo Ancelotti likes the Mexican striker very much, who is also being pursued by Juventus. The merengues are negotiation with Manchester United on the basis of a loan with option to buy. Juventus is monitoring the situation, they are waiting to see the developments first to then decide what to do. Real Madrid has entered the race, Chicharito is a concrete target for them.

His presence among the backroom staff was immense for us when Fergie was around here. So this move speaks volumes of the club intending to build it on with a solid backing.
Great to see Van Gaal agreeing for this move

Javier Hernandez has agreed to join Real Madrid for £16mil [El Confidencial]
For all that moaning about a lack of play time, then to go to Real Madrid to get benched again. I must say, I've lost a bit of respect for him. If he didn't complain, I wouldn't have any problems with this move.
Anyway, £16mil is a very good price.

Strong rumours breaking out on Twitter that he has decided to join them.
What an idiotic decision that would be. He would be swapping our bench for theirs.

I'm honestly happy that he's out. He doesn't know how to pass the ball properly anyway.
For 16mil we definitely get the better part of the deal.

RM laughing at us yet again. They bitch us yet again. FFS...just sell him off. Option to buy? LOL. He's most likely gonna be on their bench for the whole season, maybe a few starts in the coppa del ray or when they're battering teams, give him a few mins, they'll make a fair amount of profit for the year based off hist shirt sales in Mexico, then give him back to us, while they go and purchase a much better striker next summer.
Leaving us with another player we want to get rid of.
