Pippo wrote:Pepe got 13 yellow cards last season which fits with his career trend. He's gotten away with quite a bit as well.
Fact still stands. He is incredibly clean as a defender. He must have gotten the 8 first ones in the first couple of games when he was trying to shake off the Mou stain left on him

Absolutely batshit game between Valencia and Rayo right now in the cup. Valencia had a 1-0 lead from the first leg; score in the second leg is currently 4-4 with 15 minutes to go.

And I think that was Ivan's 2nd(?) assist for the season. Somewhere in Europe, Futbol is less angry at him.

And obviously I missed the first half, getting a haircut from my sexy, single hairdresser and didn't see it. Sigh.

Re: La Liga 2014/15 Discussion
Córdoba boss Miroslav Djukic was not a happy bunny after his side fell to a 5-0 drubbing at the Camp Nou, claiming that the players' performance had made the team "a complete laughing stock".
"We have to have a better attitude. You can beat, draw with or lose to Barcelona, but you have to give them more of a run for their money. They beat us without getting out of second gear", the Serbian coach lamented. "Some of the players asked to swap shirts before the match had even begun. I feel ashamed. In the future, I'm going to pick the players who show balls and have the bit between their teeth. If we don't have the bit between our teeth, we're not going to get very far", Djukic went on. "To win at this stadium you have to show pride, which we failed to do", the 48-year-old added.

It took Luis Suarez 565 minutes to score his first goal in the Liga. It took him 16 min to score his first in Premier League. [via mrchip]

Re: La Liga 2014/15 Discussion
"[Bale said that] because he's there," Mourinho, whose Blues are currently top of the Premier League, told BT Sport. "You have to accept what Gareth says, but I was also there.
"I won La Liga, I lost La Liga, but I [also] won La Liga, and I know clearly the differences between La Liga and the Premier League.
"To go to matches knowing that you are going to win for sure is not the best thing. In Spain everybody knows that two teams are top of the world. A third team like Atletico is doing wonderfully well and they won last year, which is not normal.
"But after that there is a huge competitive difference and that's why the record is 100 points, 126 goals. In England, 100 points and 126 goals is impossible. If someone reaches 100 points and scores 126 goals, it's not the best competition for sure, they can be the best team, but not the best competition."
Mow when he was at RM
"I don't think the champion will reach 100 points," the Real Madrid coach said on Wednesday after a 5-1 win over Milan at Yankee Stadium. "I don't think the champion will score 120 goals. These are numbers to stay in the history for a long time. I don't think we can do it or Barcelona will do it."
"The league is very, very strong," he said of Spain. "A beautiful league, because the teams are very technical, and that's the reason I'm in Spain, because I want to be where the best league is."

Winter, you know how these men are. They'll say whatever needs to be said in accordance to whoever (or whomever) is paying them their salary.

Re: La Liga 2014/15 Discussion
As humble as a church rat and just as quiet, La Liga is back. And the matches are quite tasty.
Valencia v Real Madrid
La Real aka Moysie's reckoning v Barcelona
Atletico v Levante aka Hala's two worst nightmares
Sevilla v Celta de Vigo
Depor v Athletic
La Liga may (is) not as flashy or rich as her English counterpart but probably is better looking once you get to know her properly.
