Isn't he on the last year of his contract?

Don't call me James wrote:Moal was saying Newcastle wouldn't sell HBA for less than 20m like last year And that only top teams would attract him And now they've loaned him out to Hull of all teams.
That was true then, since then Pardew has held on grudge for Ben Arfa saying the truth.
Since then he's been in the reserves and not allowed to train with the first team because Pardew is an ego maniac.
He just wants to play football again, same goes for Mbiwa and Marveaux were ostracised in a similar manner for no reason.

They've overspent on pretty much every player and their wage bill at the moment is astronomical.
Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Swansea & Hull all had great windows.
A team which isnt in the CL trying to sign players who are more than good enough to play in the CL, had to over pay?
I never....

Which of those are of the level of current Di Maria or Falcao?
And the only ones even close were Ribery and Klose. Klose being almost 30 and Ribery still not universally accepted as as great as he is now.

I keep wondering why Liverpool weren't after Alonso? Its one of the weak spots in their team afterall. And they're probably the only team in the league he'd want to play for. I don't get it.

I agree but Rodgers won't drop Gerrard.
And playing both Alonso and Gerrard wouldn't work together as they'd both be playing essentially the same role.
Still wouldn't fix us too much defensively either, even if you consider Alonso's superior positional sense and leadership back there.

It would've made sense, pity it didn't happen. I guess Xabi's wages would be too big for a bench player for us and there would be no way Stevie gets dropped. If Alonso stays at Bayern only one year with Stevie 35 next summer we could bring him then and rotate both. 25-30 games each a season doesn't sound too bad for two guys in their mid 30s.

obviously, he joined us and not Liverpool because he wanted another step up and not one down for his last career phase.

There's no step up after leaving a team that just won the CL.

Just Liverpool fans making up non sense to help them selves sleep at night how the best the could do with CL was Balotelli
You know, just yesterday I had a number of ManU fans on reddit tell me that no United fans were claiming Falcao picked them for anything other than money, that all the headlines saying "Falcao turned down Liverpool, City, Arsenal, [insert CL team here]" or "Falcao only wanted United" were just clickbait and didn't represent the fanbase's opinions. "We all know he came here because we were the only ones who would pay his wages, and that he probably would've picked one of those other teams ahead of us if he had two offers", they said.
And then I see yet another attempt at "bantz" like this, where a ManU fan honestly claims that players would rather play for them if the wages were equal. Between this and the collective circlejerk over an old BR quote, I'm starting to think you guys believe all the title talk.

let us play a full strength line up with all our signings first before we start judging this United team....a Fletcher Cleverley midfield with Ashley young at LWB and Blackett at CB and Valencia in RWB isn't anywhere near our strongest first team

Fine by me. But let's stop pretending Falcao "chose" ManU for any reason other than the fact that they were the only team, worldwide, willing to pay his salary. He was shopped to literally everyone, and only ManU bit. You guys got your target for the price you were willing to pay, and we got ours for the price we were willing to pay, no need to make it more complicated than that.
Edit: Actually, not fine by me. The whole point of the depth conversation is that it's rare to have your strongest first team available. I think you're going to be seeing a poor midfield and defense trotted fairly often this season, considering you're one injury in each area from starting some rough names. Your ideal first 11 has nothing to do with what actually happens over the course of the year. Of course, as with anything, time will tell.
