was too easy for Southampton, barely threatened in the second half.

wenger is again to blame for this loss because of two reasons
1. How can you play two CAMs infront of DIABY who is out for so long. This created problem for midfield no ball retention and the mid field was completely over run.
2. There was no game plan
I am very disappointed with wenger.

Don't think Jay is doing the post match for this game so just discuss it here.
It was so difficult to watch the 2nd half. Can't remember we created a single chance apart from that Sanchez one.

Re: Arsenal Vs Southampton[Capital One Cup]
Why does Wenger insist playing Alexis as a lone striker? Such a waste, it's not like we were playing Barcelona or Bayern when you need someone who needs to run behind a high line, win fouls high up the pitch etc...

Can't believe Podolski and Rosicky stayed on. Both looked apathetic. The former jogged around while the latter fouled and misplaced passes.
Coquelin put in a shift full of character imo, could be useful.
Hayden was intelligent and strong in defense.
Bellerin had a decent game as well.
Jack was dangerous but tried to do too much imo.
Sanchez was on fire, worked his arse off as usual, shame we wasted such a glorious free kick.

I'm glad Podolski and Rosicky got some competitive minutes. It will be important when they are forced to play when more injuries inevitably come around.

Re: Arsenal Vs Southampton[Capital One Cup]
Well there goes our hopes of a quadruple
Whats the point of having depth when its useless
Very disappointed with some of our senior players, considering how limited their first team chances have been so far this season you'd think they perform better when the chance is there especially Poldi. He looked like he didn't even want to be there, spent most of the game walking, jogging around the pitch. He barely had any touches of the ball, showed zero enthusiasm or urgency. Rosicky had a stinker but at least he was trying, now they won't get a game for sometime
Impressed with Hayden and Coquelin, Bellerin struggled a bit defensively but thats expected. Joel Campbell was lively but average in the final third while Jack was probably our best midfielder, set up Poldi with a good chance only for him to miss. Sanchez had a decent game but Arsene needs to stop playing him upfront, its a complete waste.

Agreed on all your points.
I'll just add that Wilshere was very good again, that pass to Podolski was *bleep* ace and had other good moments.
Oh and hopefully everyone will be fine and we didn't suffer any injuries.

Re: Arsenal Vs Southampton[Capital One Cup]
Rosicky and Poldoski were too rusty, they're probably susprised themselves they stayed that long on the pitch. Weird consider Rosicky bossed in the middle for his NT last 2 games.
Once again, Jack played well and we got crappy result, kinda turn to a theme nowadays , doesnt it.

Hard to expect any senior player to come in and do well. Just like new players needing some game time to get use to playing.
Should have just played the reserve team.

Re: Arsenal Vs Southampton[Capital One Cup]
My 13 year unbeaten streak has come to an end
Damn that Clyne, I shouted to close down dammit
Oh well we played well just the final pass and decision let us down.
Bellerin is legit, Wenger needs to give this guy more regular first team exposure because it is clear he is not daunted by this level
No one really played badly and Southampton were quite good I felt, Jack Wilshere carried on his good form which was pleasing

Re: Arsenal Vs Southampton[Capital One Cup]
Alexis was a class, what player we have signed.
Was happy for Diaby, think he can solve our midfield problems even if he can only play 60m a game.
I am ok with getting kicked out of the Cup but I am not happy with losing at home. We dont have the players to fight EPL, CL and FA cup.

Re: Arsenal Vs Southampton[Capital One Cup]
It's a real shame to exit the League Cup at the 3rd round stage for the first time in 12 years.
I was so disappointed in the likes of Podolski, Rosicky and Campbell. Expected much, much more.
Alexis (again) was our best player. I'm actually starting to wonder where we might have been had we not signed him, in terms of results so far.
But we know football - if we beat Spurs, all is forgiven.
