This has nothing to do with Barca but is more of a cultural thing imo.
Where I live a hattrick is what RWO said and there's a perfect/lupenreiner Hattrick aswell which is the same but you scored one with your left, one with your right and one with the head. As said this has zero to do with Barca, Messi, Ronaldo or anyone. If you "just" score 3 goals in a match it's called "Dreierpack".

You can't call this bullshit just because it's different to what you know/how you do it. It's just a name and a word's meaning is whatever people want it's meaning to be.

About the hat trick talk earlier. Sure in some places it may be the definition has it's variations . But nobody has to adopt such variations. The hat trick is 3 goals during the match and that's about it , if you want it to be something else , or more impressive , go ahead . We won't downplay hattricks with penos or what have you , just because other hat tricks include a right , left and header , or no penos. It's the goals that count and it's the goals that everyone values , first of everything else.

The rest are for purists . I don't see what's wrong with scoring penos , people downplay that as if it's the easiest thing a player can do . A player like Ronaldo should be praised for scoring so many penalties whenever the occasion demands it, not being laughed at as Penaldo , or downplaying his hattricks because of penalties . It's absurd really.

I won't even go by that logic , it's pure bs . As if those who agree won't celebrate a peno when their team scores one , or won't feel angry or dissapointed when their team's player loses one.

to me, hattrick have different kind of quality hierrachy

there is a great hattrick, there is a good hattrick, there is a average hattrick, i'm not sure whether there is bad hattrick

cronaldo's hattrick was quite ok

messi's hattrick is another level

In open play you have 10% chance to score. Nobody knows you will get that chance or not. In penalties you have 90% chance to score.90%=gift

Penalty is so easy to score that players get red cards to avoid penalties (or 90% scoring chance)
