Re: Transfer Rumours V6
Surely the #10 position requires less physical effort than playing on the wing and being up against fullbacks and wingers. Often players move from FB to CB (Abidal, Mathieu ...) or from the wing to midfield (Giggs) when they age and not the other way around. As a #10 Messi would be up against players like Alonso, Kroos, Matic etc. who don't have a big action radius and don't need to be tracked all over the pitch as much as wide players who keep bombing up and down the flanks.
But anyway, this leads to nothing. Some think it would work, some think it wouldn't and the reasons were elaborated in detail. Let's move on.

À bout de souffle.
I only didnt use your username last night for similar reasons to why you didnt post, it was quite late and I simply couldnt be bothered. No offence.
I get what your saying, Madrid having Isco for example is a big upgrade to Pedro. I certainly agree with improving that but I dont believe Reus is the player for it. I think he would want to start big games and play an important role and I think its not workable. Its in the biggest games you want to respect the opponent more and we are already on the edge of not doing that by playing 3 forwards who leave the team broken because they arent consistently getting behind the ball when needed.
Finally, I dont believe in a Busi-Verratti tandem because neither of them are proactive ball winners. Busquets reads the game and picks off passes he sees coming, but he does this even less now because his responsibilities are different. Because we now defend with a line of 4 he is part of more often (rather than a line of 4 in front of him in a 433) he has to move forward and shuffle sideways and cant be a free safety. He is already having issues with this in my opinion. And Veratti as hard as he tries, doesnt win balls, he fouls at a very high rate. Martinez for example is a fantastic ball presser in midfield, he makes it uncomfortable for you to turn and he is physically a real obstacle. So I dont agree that Verratti's energy and tenacity make up for it, because he simply fouls alot. Its better for him to foul than getting dribbled, but its still not ideal.
As for the Alonso - Busquets midfield, it was one of the most putrid things I have seen about a team winning so often as they did and for me a case of the team winning in spite of it, not because of it. Alonso was in there for attacking purpose more than anything because he could change the range of Spain's passing and suddenly surprise an opponent with a long ball. Martinez in there always was better for me, it just didnt happen all that often that I saw.

Re: Transfer Rumours V6
Dani says essentially what I was going to say but even better. I can second his comments.
I also support his opinion on the Alonso-Busquets midfield--I never found Busquets convincing for Spain in the double pivot. I don't like Busquets in the double pivot, I never have. Not only this, but Veratti is not convincing defensively, which is why I said that the purchase of Veratti would have to accompany a prime pressing Barca or a prime possession Barcelona or at the very least, someone next to him in a midfield THREE that is defensively competent.
Veratti-Busquets is far too exposed. If Spain had played some of the teams Barca will have to play, what happened to Spain with Busquets-Alonso in WC 2014 is probably what would happen to Veratti-Busquets. This is not taking into account that the person in front of Busquets will be Messi, and Messi will likely then be flanked by the likes of Reus and Neymar
I mean, on it's own in doesn't make sense, but when you take what it does to the rest of the team, then it makes even less sense. Shoehorning as many attacking players as you can into one team is not really a good strategy in real life. It is in FIFA, I guess.

i mean if pogba isn't possible or verrati surely he isn't a terrible option?
Not for us thank you. He is a terrific engine, but lacks quality in my opinion. I prefer someone who has everything: quality and engine.

How in the world does Vidal lack quality?

Sorry but with "hair" - or whatever that is on his head - like that he can't come to Barca. Thanks.

Agreed somewhat, but then again--Neymar's hair these days is hardly better, and Messi just got a sleeve
Frontline starts playing well together and all of a sudden Neymar and Messi think they can do whatever they want.
Thank god we have Suarez, inb4 he gets grillz

Understand me, he lacks quality for our midfield.
He's a faster, quicker and more talented Keita, but his touch is worse than Rakitic's who is already being criticized for our posession play....

I reckon in the end we'll end up with none of Pogba, Gundogan, Verratti, Koke, whoever we're linked to atm

Reminds me of last summer. From "Benatia + Marquinhos" to "only Benatia" to Douglas.

Neymar's haircut is quite ordinary these days tbh. But Vidal is taking it to another level.

Why wouldn't he. Has more money than he could possibly spend anyway.

Btw, you guys have any idea how hard its gonna be to land a decent forward/winger for our team? We don't rotate our front 3 and everyone knows that. Pedro, been on the team since a child and he's been on the bench since Coahessi took over. So why would any forward want to play for us if they know they will get little to no pt

Out best bet is finding a non-injury prone Afellay type, or if Adama or Munir turn it up. I have no hope for Deulofeu anymore

I have no hope on Munir either.... I will try my best to keep Pedro if Munir is the next in pecking order...I still wonder Afellay din work out for us....he should have been a fantastic wing option

I kinda disagree. I think Pedro also doesnt play much because he doesnt give you anything. Too many no show performances with him just being a passenger.
I think another player would play more, but still not enough to justify a "star" forward.
Some guy playing in a mid level team who can take a step up, like Rakitic level (smaller role of course).
