Interested to see how Zlatan and Rooney can co exist in the same team, especially in a counter attacking set up as Jose seems to be planning con that line up.

Rooney will just disappear like he always does... i think he's done. I could easily see Mourinho bench him.

Re: Manchester United Part V/Ole Sack Watch
Curious to know who Jose will announce as the captain. I think it will shed some light on the rooney situation.
I dont know how he normally does with his captains. Whether he plays them all the time or if he drops them if they are not doing well. With LvG it was always "My captain shall always play". If Rooney is made the captain again, then well, he will sadly remain a crucial player.

It's going to be interesting. I don't think the profiles really work together.
Why is he a big stretch on the wing though? He played primarily out right with Dortmund this past season (his best season) and you can see from this game and heat map that he doesn't need to cut in often to be effective.
I suspect there'll be a lot of fluidity in motion between Mkhitaryan, Rooney and Zlatan to be honest. It's extremely annoying that they're getting top players despite their standing and current level. Money talks though.

Re: Manchester United Part V/Ole Sack Watch
TBH I think we are looking at a deep lying play maker/box to box job for that CM spot to function in a double pivot.
One of the reasons why we wont be going for a new CDM is because of the presence of Fosu mensah in the squad. Just like how we didnt get any new CF barring Zlatan so as to not impede Rashford's growth, I honestly feel the reason why we aint/wont go for a new DM would be to facilitate the development of Mensah.
So it naturally rules out players like Kante, Saul and Neves.
For the time being likes of Scheiderlin and Carrick can cover the position.
What we do lack is the 2nd mf to partner the CDM and thats where guys like Pogba and Gomes come into the equation. So it has to be a deep standing playmaker/B2B , this new CM of Jose in all likelihood.

Interesting point of view. Let's see if Mourinho is thinking about the same thing. Honestly, we should sell Fellaini. He is a nice guy, a decent football player but from what I imagine he will be useless for Mourinho and we already have Carrick, Schneiderlin, Schweini, Herrera in the midfield. I would be surprised to see Mourinho giving Fellaini a chance in a attacking position, so nothing's left for him. Maybe some minutes in the FA Cup.
We already have a lot of midfielders and Fellaini struggled to find his identity on the pitch with van Gaal. I would be surprised to see a new beginning for him at Man United.
The new transfer, it's a little bit unpredictable. All these rumours about Pogba, maybe they will be only rumours. What if Pogba doesn't leave, or what if Pogba leaves for another club? Who will be the next target then? Mourinho said that the next transfer means "hard working" from the club's staff. I think he knew very well what he meant.
