we don't need a RW though.  Vini and Rodrygo (and Asensio before he got injured) are the candidates... not to mention a 442 with two strikers where we wouldn't need anyone.

The issue is that Casemiro isn't back yet, we haven't signed Pogba yet... and we're forced to play a double pivot of Kroos and Modric because we don't have the numbers to play a 3 man mid right now.

Oh and Hazard looks like a beached whale.  Disappointed he showed up fat to his first Madrid preseason.

I'll add that Carvajal, Nacho and Odri have looked SHOCKING on defense.  Militao will do a world of good to go with Varane, Ramos and Mendy.  Marcelo looks decent too.

Once we sign Pogba and Casemiro is ready, we can bench Modric or Kroos.  Then the numbers are fine in midfield.

Our transfers aren't done and players aren't back... we're not even ready to play games at this point because our squad is in flux.

Kroos looked lost out there in that stupid CDM position. Literally only Casemiro can play that position. Apparently Zizou trusts noone else to do it

This season is going to be great, I already feel it.

i'm not one to get carried away by preseason games, hell i'm not one to get carried away by so called "super" cup games, but 7 is very difficult to shove under the rug, especially when you see that the players were actually trying at some point not to get humiliated. we cannot afford another "interesting" season.

ZZ is convinced we'll have a grear season. I admire his positivity but if he plays the same grandads reality will smack right across his face

Zidane is overly stubborn for some reason, he just insist on certain players playing at the expense of better players, reminds me of mou days rather prove a point than win.

I don't see why the likes of isco, asensio,Marcelo, carvajal, ordi, lucas, nacho gets so many chances it just boggles my mind, when are we gonna get a coach who can tell the players what support the CF? I'm fucking tired of seeing Marcelo and rest doing everything except serving CF, real Madrid doesn't win titles thanks to the handful of lucky goals these guys score, so why are they shooting so much? Why is it so hard for real Madrid to be a normal team? This is what happens when club,media and fanbase enabled cr fuckery football and everytime he flopped or team is bad just put the blame at benzema door step and lie, now I have seen multiple games where Mariano and jovic can't get a kick of the ball cause the players are fucking around trying to grab headlines with shitty dribbles and lucky goals, fans still playing dumb like they can't see it, guess real Madrid needs to by cf for 200 mil for him to get some service smh.

Anyway if zz goes into the season like this, and not push out certain players, he just another puppet manager pretending he has control, I don't think he does anyway formation is ass, teamwork ass and every fucking player on the team especially the Spanish scrubs, have to take 100 touches and dribble 2 defenders before passing, cause that what fans want and those same fans wonder why the team can't keep a clean sheet and create chances, cause all the players are competing with each other for headlines and minutes, that toxicity is what the fans and media promote every season cause they are still bitter that benzema won out on higs.

Let's turn off the blinders for a second...

3 games:
-  1st half against Bayern was very good but benzema couldn't hit the side of the barn.  we then brought in the subs and they sucked.  
-  Arsenal game was the opposite of the Bayern game.   Nacho sabotaged us with a red card in 10 mins and we went down 2-0.  Once Arsenal got a red card too, we dominated and ended up winning.
-  Atleti game was a lot of bad circumstances imo.  First off, it was the 3rd game in 6 days.  Second, we've had injuries and players are still not back from summer break.  Third, there's no point overplaying veterans or pushing them and it showed since we were extremely lethargic.  You can't just turn on a switch.  Atleti approached it like a CL final and we approached it like a training game.  It's not the case of two teams at full strength going full speed. Not even close.

In short, you guys are a bunch of drama queens.

I'm sure we all like to think that the team will look substantially different, once the season starts. We all know it's just pre-season. The lethargy is not very reassuring, though. We saw that for large portions of last season, and it was the usual suspects this time around, as well.

I'll add that with Asensio out and Isco looking like a scrub... I'm happy James is staying.  He was actually a beast at Monaco cutting inside from the right forward position.  that's exactly what we need.

Hazard creating on the left and James on the right is actually quite sexy in theory.

Defensively... not so much especially if Kroos and Modric are supposed to be the CM covers.

Also, requires that Carvajal wakes the f up and Mendy to get healthy (marcelo can't defend).

We actually looked very good last preseason and look what that did for us...

This line up would work if Hazard was at least 10KG thinner, Vinicious started on the left, Casemiro in the middle, Mendy for Marcelo and Brahimi/Rodrygo/Kubo on the right

I've actually liked this team best so far this preseason. Our errors are mental not tactical this time

I don't even know why Marcelo shoots from outside the box, they keep having to get a new ball because his balls end up leaving the whole city
