Well, I'd say it does. Or rather it did. I agree, there are exceptions and all of them share similar characteristics- youth products, local players, etc.

Well there's obviously more to it than that. Automatic starter and revered in Liverpool whereas he might not get nearly as much gametime, or importance, in Barcelona especially if they are truly chasing Pogba as well. I'm also confident that Liverpool will be a top 4 team moving forward (or at least challenging for it year in and out) as well as winning/challenging for trophies so unless they can guarantee him a starting spot I don't think he'd go.

Dunno why it's being compared to the Suarez situation...it's pretty daft to make any kind of comparison there when Suarez had always said it was his dream to play in Spain, tried to force his way out only a year prior and had many disciplinary issues. That's not to say that he would never leave or anything like that, but I think he's pretty happy to develop and play at Liverpool ATM.

Well obviously if Coutinho negotiated with Barca they would speak about which role he would play and how he fits in.

If someone tells him, well Iniesta is getting phased out, probably will only play half the game and you can slowly take over for him as he took over from Deco....you think Coutinho wouldnt be willing to try that out?

Barca dont really sign players without the intention of using them unless they are Song, Douglas, Hleb level players.
