Wenger says he's made his mind up... but he hasn't told anyone at the club and won't reveal it yet.

The players have clearly given up on him which makes his position untenable, even for our board

Follow Ozil on facebook and see him having a jolly good time, hardly mention Arsenal, dude is set to leave, so did lots of players. Think only Kozz, Mertz and Ox care.

Philippe Auclair who is a well connected french journalist has said multiple times on RMC, with more time passing, the feeling around Arsenal and people who know Wenger is that he will extend for two years.Jay29 wrote:Wenger says he's made his mind up... but he hasn't told anyone at the club and won't reveal it yet.

I tend to believe what he says. i feel like Wenger will have to be pushed out by the club for him to leave.

Feels like Arsenal have been looking after Arsene and not Arsenal. Time to put the club first again and manage this with some conviction.

At a super-club like Real Madrid where managers are at the center of an erupting volcano based on an almost monthly basis of results? Sure. The players' power is also a major role.
But not at Arsenal where Wenger is the last word on everything.
Feels like he's still trying to do something like win the FA Cup to save face and announce an extension when even the people who love him most want us to win the FA Cup so he can leave with his head held high.

Bayern, PSG, Real, Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and City have all changed managers since Arsenal last won away at a top 8 side in the league.

I think he is going to announce that he'll retire, lads. Remember, I had a dream foreboding it.
How can he stay on after that result and the ongoing war planes in the sky?

Twitter is full of rumors and assertions that Wenger will (a) step down, (b) sign for one more year, or (c) sign for two years. Glad we're getting clarity on this issue.

We shouldn't be blaming twitter though, but the people running Arsenal.
Most of all Wenger, "I have decided but I will not tell you yet"
Ridiculous stuff as has been noted. The board should communicate such stuff with the public. Not Wenger himself.

The disconnect between Gazidis and Wenger over Xhaka is extremely worrying.
This, however, is probably the most problematic and immediate consequence of Wenger's indecision:
Such control is enjoyed by Wenger that the delay of his decision is having a detrimental effect on next season’s planning. According to The Times, the club has attempted to enter preliminary negotiations, however, the lack of clarity over next season’s manager is causing talks to break down. Agents with a long history of working with the club have allegedly approached several players in Europe in order to set up summer transfers, however, they’ve been told to come back when the managerial situation becomes clearer. It’s clear that the Arsenal hierarchy is totally unsure on the manager’s future and that Wenger has a free reign to dictate the terms of his extension.

Re: #WengerOut - This is definitely the definitive opinion
Funny thing about Xhaka is that most of us were agreement that between him and Kante, he was the one we needed more (turns out we needed both). Everyone was happy with the signing because he could bring some of Cazorla's qualities to the team. We were all baffled when Wenger said he saw him as a B2B. In hindsight, it really could have been a case that Wenger wasn't as familiar with Xhaka's style as Gazidis was. But then, if that was the case I can't see how Wenger ever would have approved of the signing in the first place.
So it's a strange situation. It's hard not to read Xhaka's early benching as Wenger not wanting the player to begin with. Xhaka's own performances indicate he's yet to receive any clarity over his role in the team.
The part about future planning is definitely worrying. We're going to have a lot of squad turnover this summer and to not be able to lay the groundwork on deals due to uncertainty over the manager is really damaging. Part of the reason why I keep saying a decision has to be made now and not until the summer.

If he stays I'm giving up writing for Arsenal Insider and writing about the Chinese Super League instead. I'm sure the editor will understand.

Seeing the Telegraph say the mutual decision biz, Bild saying we've offered the job to Tuchel, others talking on Twitter about a contract already having been signed.

Good. Don't think he would bow out like this after his worst season ever. He's a fighter. Think he will try to get you back into Cl before stepping down.

Re: #WengerOut - This is definitely the definitive opinion
Anyone actually though that Wenger would leave is as deluded as Wenger. Normally he would have liked to stay until end of season to sign but as the season ended this weekend he is going announce the contract by next-weekend.
I never once thought he would leave, Wenger only cares about the board support he never cared what fans think. Even if it takes another 20 years to prove the fans wrong he will stay at Arsenal.
---------------
Thierry Henry on the players: "Is the Arsenal shirt too heavy for you? Stop hiding behind Arsène Wenger and be more than mediocre."

If this is true then Wenger is the only coach in the world that can suffer a big loss and as a result of it get renewed.
