This gun obsession thing is a white people thing lol. And I don't know why but they just love their guns. Afrikaans people in South Africa and Namibia are big into game hunting, owning land and farms and being allowed to kill animals for meat as food. They're the ones you'll usually find on social media posing with dead animals. A smaller percentage are into trophy hunting as well.

My culture takes from it as well, because we're mixed with Afrikaans and European heritage, but mainly because our grandparents' generation looked up to the Afrikaans folk and their traditions so much. So in my culture there are a lot of people into guns and shooting animals and all other shit as well, including in my own family, I'm probably the only man in my immediate family who honestly couldn't care less about a gun.

I also know about one guy who I knew from high school who moved to America, and over there he is schooling/working at a gun manufacturing place.

The man behind the worst mass shooting in modern US history is believed to be a grandfather who lived in the remote desert in Nevada.
Stephen Paddock, 64, was identified by police as the gunman who killed at least 58 people after opening fire from the 32nd floor of a Las Vegas hotel.

His brother Eric Paddock spoke of his shock and described his sibling as a gambler with "no religious affiliation, no political affiliation" who was "not an avid gun guy at all".

and there we have it ladys and gents. this guy is not a terrorist

Still looking for a motive. It's impossible to say yet.

Also I wouldn't trust these quotes from family members at all. How are they reliable when they keep speaking this way about their degenerate family.

The guy was in a hotel room all weekend with 10+ rifles. Not exactly a stand up guy.

The fact he was able to walk straight into a hotel with all these rifles speaks so much about what's wrong with the US in general.

Welcome to the modern world, Where the Terrorism was always described only for political gains, It shifted to religious gains because people started doing that based on the fact "it was terrorizing people"

And now we will conveniently ignore this because apparently the guy had no political or religious motives (Religion was never in the original definition of terrorism), Even though he did have social motives ( Which is officially defined as terrorism by the US penal code )

Imagine a guy shooting 200 people from a window but people defending his rights not be a terrorist just because he's from a different race, How do you even look at yourself in the mirror in the morning and not think the world will be a better place without your selective hatred.

Mr Paddock will probably laugh his guts out when he realizes the biggest wave that spread after killing so many innocents was the fact whether is he a terrorist or not.

Semi-automatics are referred to as such though. And I read he might've used a modified semi.
AR-15s etc can fire at basically the same speed anyways.

If Sandy Hook couldn't change republicans' views on gun control, then no incident ever will.

Debate is meaningless. Nothing will change.

Assault rifle: "a rapid-fire, magazine-fed automatic rifle designed for infantry use."

Anyone that refers to semis as "assault" in the media is just scare mongering by making semis seem more dangerous than they are. Not that they're not plenty dangerous already.

All I can find states that real assault rifles are legal to carry in Nevada.

Also what's any good reason that anyone should be able to carry weapons that are able to kill and wound 100s in minutes. I don't understand it all.

I don't think it's fear mongering at all. It's just being an empathic and logical human being.

There isn't any valid reason for not having more gun control.

There could be.

Just need some organisation to outbid the politicians. Engage the NRA in a bidding war.

But assault rifles are already banned for sale since the 80s. I certainly agree that you shouldn't be able to carry them, but that's not really the issue here because the only way you can get one legally is if it's older than from '83. I would be willing to bet that if this guy used one he got it on the black market rather than the prior to 83 loophole.
