In fairness casual gamers won't even give a shit, as all the leaks state both consoles will get all the same games it just will run and look better on the new version.

They won't even care about all that tbh, as long as the devs support it then it won't matter to them.

Speaking as a casual gamer the thing I'd be concerned about would be if and when new games require the new consoles to run. Are we going to get to the point where certain games would just be unplayable on the standard PS4, like how some PC games will run like crap on older PCs?

At the moment I don't give a toss about 4K. I didn't even have a 1080p television until a couple of months ago ffs. Having the ability to play a console game in 4K isn't going to convince me to drop £350 on a new console a year after I spent £350 on my current console.

The current reports are no Jay, they'll be able to run them fine they'll just run better on the newer system.

We won't know for sure until they are released obviously though, but everything is basically saying that games will be released for both and the only difference is that the newer one if capable of higher performance related matters.

This isn't a PS3 to PS4 level jump where PS3 simply can't run PS4 games, it's more of a incremental update inbetween generations until the next fully fledged console.

Next gen has been shite anyway so far, the games I end up playing or wanting to play the most are pretty much all continuations of game series that have been going for a while now.

I don't like buying a new console every 2-3 years. PS3 lifetime was goat but if the games don't become PS4k only then I don't really care.

The reason it's happening is because people complain that consoles end up after 5 or so years of either lagging behind tech wise or everything just stagnates.

As good as the PS3 gen was, we all have to admit the last 2 or 3 years was pretty crappy because it went on far too long.

This gives people an option to upgrade should they wish and prevents stagnation mid generation so devs can keep making the games they want to make and if you don't want to then that option is still there.

I honestly don't remember which weapons were the best. Tom probably knows. The game has gone through quite a lot of gun balance changes by now, so it's hard to keep track of them.

I hear they recently added a sniper rifle with aim assist to the pool of supply drop weapons. Pretty lame imo Laughing

No one knows that info yet but i'd assume so, also i reckon this 4K stuff is marketing speak, like how HD gaming was in the 360/PS3 era.

Until Sony actually announce the specifics then it's hard to really say.

This is the specific info atm....

They stated that the GPU is twice as powerful as standard PS4 and much faster. They did not say exactly how fast but that is was running at a higher clock speed while being much smaller than the original.

It will have a 4k blu ray player and will upscale games that are not natively 4k.

Also there was talk of some sort of VR lounge for the media player app which is supposed to be getting a substantial upgrade.

It was stated plainly and with no room for interpretation that there are developers that already have development kits for the PS4K and that they are making games that will directly target and take advantage of the higher specs of the PS4K. It was also stated that these games will in fact work for the PS4.

Wouldn't worry about any of it yet though as pretty much every media outlet says it's either coming beginning of next year or Christmas of this year.
