Serie B side. We won 1-0 off a Fazio header.

Vermaelen made his debut too.

Spalletti:

“Paredes is a strong player in our opinion, and we want to use him, but sometimes in a transfer market like this you can use strong players to fund the transfer market, so that affects everyone.

“It’s like that for Napoli too, who wanted to keep [Gonzalo] Higuain [who went to Juventus].

“For that reason we can’t say what our thinking is absolutely, because there are so many things to be taken into account and that doesn’t just apply to Paredes.

“For me he’s a good player and he’ll stay at Roma.”

I think he'll go to Liverpool tbh.

Completely indifferent to selling him. We either get money or we get his talent. Either way, midfield is our strongest area so if we do sell him, we'll probably survive.

@rincon wrote:He was kinda lost when he first joined but he exploded again in Empoli. This Empoli side is extremely well managed, first by Sarri and now by Giampaolo, I'd want all my youth players there if Juve didn't already have Sassuolo (a similar youth hub).

Rugani (juve)
Tonelli (Napoli)
Zielinski (Napoli)
Paredes (Roma)
Mario Rui (Roma)
Saponara (still at Empoli)

Paredes looks ready to star in Roma with Pjanic gone and Strootman's doubts of how he will be. Its hard that technical players don't succeed with Spalletti, he tailors his tactics 100% to the kind of player Paredes is.

Marchisio, Giovinco Smile

He gave the pass before the assist for the 3rd and 4th goal. He came off the pitch at the end of the game due to injury.

He was quiet by his standards today and probably overshadowed by Strootman and Nainggolan's dynamic displays, but he was good nonetheless. Here's hoping the injury's just a knock like Manolas'.
