Don't call me James wrote:Love Fight Club but The Matrix will have to be first most likely. Just because of the sheer impact of it and philosophical significance.

I havne't seen many 90s films and 95% of the ones I have seen I barely remember.

Bruh get on it. Best decade of film, at least my favorite.

Also I'm fine with people rating the LOTR films differently but calling the first one trash? Mole u jabroni all three of them are masterpieces 1v1meirl

Rewatched Nightcrawler and Inside Llewyn Davis

Nightcrawler - 8.8
Gyllenhaal with top 5 acting performance of the century. So good. Biggest Oscar snub ever. I could rewatch this movie a million times and not get tired of it.

Inside Llewyn Davis - 8.5
Another amazing movie. Could watch this movie every time you are feeling down. I can resonate with Llewyn Davis character so much. On the inside I'm also a lazy pos that if I didn't force myself to always get my shit together I would be homeless living couch to couch like him. Laughing The Dark humor is brilliant in this and Oscar Isaac's performance is amazing as well.

Both make my top 5 for their respective years.

2013 Top 52014 Top 5
1. The Wolf of Wall Street - 9.0 1. Whiplash - 9.5
1. Prisoners - 9.02. Interstellar - 9.3
3. Her - 8.73. Nightcrawler - 8.8
4. 12 Years A Slave - 8.64. Gone Girl - 8.6
5. Inside Llewyn Davis - 8.55. Edge of Tomorrow - 8.6

Am I the only one who considers Foxcatcher a masterpiece? Sad I genuinely was fascinated by that film start to finish. Steve Carell's (1 of the finest of the last decade) performance still haunts me.

I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but I really liked it as well, especially one first watch. I watched it for a second time and I felt it kind of didn't have the same impact as the first watch, so it lost a bit of points on me based on that.

I think though it's easily one of the best acted movies of its year, and probably the best ensemble. Mark Ruffalo was my fav of the three, but they were all very good.

Steve Carell nominated as a lead didn't make sense to me though. That story was Tatum's and moreso his and his brother's.

Loved all three performances though. Prefered Tatum's. That was an amazing role for him.

agreed with the bold part.

Each of us having different favourites out of the three speaks volumes of how great the acting was in that movie.

It was my number two actually. I didn't want to include multiple in each. I'm bad enough to choose one.

Haven't seen Unforgiven or Schindler's List or Reservois Dogs or Miller's Crossing.

A lot I haven't seen in the 90s.

I barely even remember Shawshank it was such a long time ago that I watched it.

I wonder what he makes of Pulp Fiction. I don't think it has aged well despite being an amazing film.

actually thinking back, the 90s was GOAT for tons of genres

horror, romcom, crime, action

movies since 2000 can't compare IMO

the best movies since then can but the sheer number of quality/enjoyable movies pumped out in the 90s was ridiculous
