That Isco deserves to be a undisputed starter? Suddenly the lack of a backup striker doesn't seem so bad when we have only two upfront. Bale and Benz not performing? OK, we have Lucas and Asensio for that. Ronaldo will carry the heavyweights with Asensio.

I like Isco's game btw. He gets a free-role where he acts as LCM, ACM, RCM and even goes deep as a deep lying playmaker. Makes our midfield so much more fluid it's incredible.

I think so, it does lessen the issue of having only 3 strikers (BBC), however it does make Lucas a bit meaningless unless we switch to a formation with wingers. Or is Lucas going to play as a striker too?

Lucas is becoming the 25th player. He will be a backup (last option) forward and he also will be a backup RB behind Dani, Nacho, Theo. He will likely be moving on next summer.

Lucas will still be used because he can play in many formations and a unique player in the team. He'll continue to be the 12th man

just because 4312 is our main formation that doesn't mean we should always play that. our backup 11 could very well be suited to 433 and we'd be ok. diversity is good.
