Team News

A groin problem means Adam Lallana is set to miss out for Liverpool, along with Georginio Wijnaldum after he was injured playing for the Netherlands.

Defenders Nathaniel Clyne and Dejan Lovren are back in contention and fit-again Emre Can could make a first league start of the season.

Manchester United's Henrikh Mkhitaryan and defender Luke Shaw are fit for the trip to Anfield following injuries.

Phil Jones is the only player sidelined in an otherwise fully fit squad.

I think Pogba will finally prove he's 89m worth. Mourinho to throw his blazer into the Anfield crowd.

I am confident about us scoring loads and performing better than ManUtd but we all know Moutinho well and he will try every bit of his not to lose this one Laughing so considering our stupid defense it will be a 2-2 or 3-3

well the game at Anfield last season also went really well, in terms of our defending from open play. But then we again conceded from a corner or free kick (dont remember) Laughing so we will see how it goes this time.

Me too. Not at all confident.
Anyway I will switch off the telly if I see either bog brush or fat wooney in the lineup. Wont sacrifice my sleep in that case. LivPul will dismantle us if any of those 2 start.

It IS a good team. The thing is there is not enough understanding or chemistry between the players. and it will come back to hurt us against fiercely attacking teams like pool. It happened against city for their first goal when both bailly and blind went for the same ball and lost marking kdb. Our defense and midfield has every chance of panicking yet again when pool's in form attackers come at them. Individually they are good players. But you just need to find that understanding and coordination which will come with time I hope.
I will take a draw here and wont mind if Jose decides to park the bus too honestly and then will look to get full points in the match after this at Stamford Bridge (no offense chelsea fans).

There's no way Man Utd are beating us at Anfield on Monday.

They've beaten us at Anfield 3 of the 4 years in the league in absolute garbage times for us during the season. Just absolutely no way players will don't show up this time.

We will show up at 100% and if we show up at 100% at Anfield there's no way they will beat us.

Draw is the only thing I'm worried about.

Brb Rooneh to come in on the 89th minute and score the winner off his ass.

So frigging stupid that game is on Monday.
Watching games on Sunday afternoon = awesome
Watching Monday night games = lame

Also don't remember have there ever been two as underwhelming matches on a Sunday as today.

I see a similar match to the last years' EL 2nd leg semi final with pool winning 2-1 in the end. The individual brilliance of your front 3 will pull you guys through. A Coutinho worldie and a Bailly conceded penalty.

For us to get anything out of this main man Ander needs to step up. His calmness on the ball and movement is going to be vital and if he can draw 1 or 2 pool players who will be pressing like mad dogs from their position it will open up space for mata and pogba to work their magic.
And its bloody hightime we too get some rub of the green. We have been grossly unlucky this campaign when you compare with how things have been going for other big teams.

I think the lame sunday has more to do with the CL on midweek. League wants their CL teams to get more rest.

I think people are hyping too much about Mondays Red Day. I can get that Liverpool and ManUtd fans getting drawn to it. But other club supporters need to calm down. Because of Mourinho this game is going to be a tactical wankfest and then I can see everybody unnecessarily complaining.

Mourinho rofl

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-v-manchester-united--12033598

Jose Mourinho’s mouth has got him into trouble again – with the Manchester United boss breaking rules over discussing referees ahead of matches.

Mourinho will be contacted by the Football Association after questioning whether it would be difficult for Anthony Taylor to have “a very good performance” when Liverpool host United on Monday night.

Taylor’s appointment is controversial with the official hailing from Greater Manchester town Altrincham, which is only seven miles from Old Trafford.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp refused the opportunity to discuss the official and has avoided any debate over his appointment, which was queried by former referees’ chief Keith Hackett.

And while Mourinho only spoke briefly on the matter, it was enough to catch the attention of the FA, who in 2009 introduced a rule stipulating managers and players should not make pre-match comments about referees so not to potentially influence the official.

Mourinho said: “I think Mr Taylor is a very good referee but I think somebody with intention is putting such a pressure on him that I feel it will be difficult for him to have a very good performance.

“I have my view but I understood and I learned a lesson by being punished so many times for some words so I don’t want to say anything (more) about it.”

He says he learnt a lesson as well in the same interview, Still the FA might charge him looooooool

more excited about this game than about any Bayern game this season so far ffs

I think it will be an exciting game, as Mole has already stated, big games this season have definitively lived up to the hype so far.
Which is also due to the fact that Klopp is a full action big game manager and Pep doesn't shy away from a spectacle either.

I fear though that tomorrow Liverpool's team will be too nervous to get a positive result
