Similar to hiring Sarri, I'm absolutely certain the decision makers at Madrid have no idea who this Milinkovic-Savic is nor would they be remotely interested in acquiring him.

I watched like 3 Lazio matches, all by mistake so I really have no idea how he is. Rincon and Luca talk about him like he is their son so I guess he is alright.

So, just to recap, Sergej is overrated because Kovacic is 100% better... what a time to be alive

You've basically said the only reason he's overrated is because of his price tag, which when we ignore as it is currently irrelevant, we must say that he's a tremendous player and talent and he's doing something in Serie A that the last time was happening was by a French #10 at Juve with stupid hair, and yes, he's certainly at that sort of level this season

Sergej could move around 80-100 millions and he is realistically available. Even for Juve.

Lotito is a hot-head and a gangster, and Igli Tare is his puppet. No doubt that Lazio will accept the BIG FAT cheque. Last season they couldn't sell because the player himself wanted to stay. And to be honest, it was a better option to wait 1 more year so he can explode in a World Cup year. So it was win-win but now the situation has changed.

I remain on my thoughts, best creative midfielder available this summer.

Milinkovic has never played a flawless game like Kovacic played in CL vs PSG away from home. When he does, we will talk about this again, until then...

i did not say Sergej is overrated ouright, the meaning was more that he is overpriced for the talent he shows, which to me is not even that high. i reacted to a comment of someone saying there is no one better as young midfielder in europe, what a joke.

To which my answer was, yes there are better talents. Example, Kovacic and Fabinho are clearly better and have done more at a higher level.

and then i gave other examples of young midfielders who are arguably cheaper and just as talented if not better such as Rodri, Ndombele, or Aouar. If hype in Ligue 1 means nothing, then hype in Serie is shit too, because that's about the same level, and you are kidding yourself if you dont rate talents coming out of france, it's naive.

So if you are telling me i have to pay 80-100 mil for him, i will think about it carefully because i dont want to be in a situation where i pay 100 mil for the lad and he can't even play the double pivot like Pogba.

Good to hear Fabinho is still performing very well (verified on WhoScored) I imagine he has to move this summer, was surprised he didn't last time. I wonder if Bakayoko being a huge scrub will put off PL suitors though. I'd still take him at United in a heartbeat, like I said last summer. InB4 he's PSG bound though.

Saying there are better talents is a neat way to elude the question of rating Sergej though

You did say this first though- which is what I was speaking to and while it seems like a fair enough argument, you hadn't yet divulged why you thought he wasn't all that, apart from his pending transfer fee, you basically still haven't but that's fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion after all

In terms of creative midfielders, I would agree with Nick...

i named Aouar and Kovacic as example of similar or better talent in midfield.

If i am building a team, and i need a you CAM to play behind my CF, then 100% i would rather take Aouar. i could have mentioned Fekir.

It's important to talk about role because what he does at Lazio, he wont be able to play that role in most clubs in europe.

I was gonna say who da fook is Aouar, but I do remember hearing about him a season or two back...

What do you guys mean by creative then ? Passing, vision, vista, dribbling, long shots... that's how me i describe it.

In a midfield you can be either a creator or a defender. And thankfully some players (like Sergej) are good at both.

He's talking about CAMs, Sergej isn't a midfielder that plays right behind the strikers

He's an all action guy who does it all, it would actually be a shame to pigeonhole him into a single role like that

Until proven otherwise all young serie a players are absolutely awful tbh.

Still remember when Felipe Anderson was better than prime Figo WATTBA.

I was looking him up earlier as the links to United with Felipe Anderson finally died, been every window for like 2 years, seems he has been injured, plus I guess signing Sanchez ended that. Kinda relieved tbh.

milinkovic is a nicely rounded player who doesnt excel at anything in particular, maybe just heading i guess given his height. but whether you want to talk about vision, passing, dribbling, etc..., he is not elite at any of the things you mentioned.

he is good because he is well rounded, portraying him like some creative monster is not what he is. a creative CM to me is yaya toure, modric, de bruyne, Thiago, pogba etc... if we talking about CAM, then i can name other guys.

Milinkovic is nothing like these guys, he is a player with huge physique and above average technique for his size, which allows him to drives with the ball in midfield, and receive the ball in traffic. usually something good comes out of it, but he doesnt have a particularly big engine to move around and chase the ball,  which is a problem, specially because he doesnt show a lot of quality in being a positional player.

If you have SERGEJ you don't necesseraliy need a CAM.

As i see, Aouar and Fekir fits the standard for "creative" but they can't do anything else. So what's the point of even mentioning guys like that ? SERGEJ is in a class above them because he offers more.

He is a box-to-box. Most top clubs uses them.
