And sure, Spurs were without Toby for almost all the season, Kane out for chunks, Danny Rose went back to being shit. Winks gone for most of the season. A regression was due when you take those things into account.

But there will have to be some changes in the summer. Absolutely no doubt in my mind that Poch is the right manager to continue on with, but the team needs improvements. Moura is a valuable addition, I can't wait to see more of him. I think Spurs need to target a CM though, and look at a new LB if possible. And RE-SIGN TOBY. I don't think the last will happen.

Second place is still possible, I can see it happening, United in a bit of a lull atm.
tbh ive not seen much of anything of moura at spurs. how has he been performing.

Very interesting stat here.
You can see Full backs and Wide players with the highest percentage of evading pressure/marking.

Emre Can the only midfielder that high in this list. It confirms what the Liverpool fans say about him about how he's horrible under pressure and barely tries to create. Note deepest Liverpool CM is always Henderson.

@Unique, he's been off the bench mostly because he's just come into the team and Poch is a strict manager, players have to earn their minutes, earn their trust, and be able to last the full 90. He'll see a lot more time next season. He's looked good when he's played though.

Question for Liverpool fans:

If the unthinkable happens and Pool manage to miss out on the CL AND lose the final this year, was this season a success?

We haven't lost at home in the Prem and I can't see us losing to Brighton, so I consider a top-4 finish guaranteed now.

If we miss out on champions league football next season I think it would have been a bad season for us. But 2 things we have learned from this season is 1. Liverpool have a good team. 2. Liverpool have a terrible squad.

@rinc

Banter aside. Unless I'm reading those axes wrong it says nothing about how good a player is under pressure. It just says what fraction of their forward passes are under pressure. If anything all this does is point to Klopp's direct style as 4 of the top 5 players making more forward passes under pressure are Liverpool players.

I disagree. We've learned that you have a Salah this season and next season it's highly possible you won't. :coffee:

we had a top 4 spot wrapped up by this time last year without salah. so you could argue we were doing better without him. Very Happy

What happened with Southampton? they have been very good a quite a few seasons, I just know they kept selling a lot of their good players and I guess the owners made a lot of money?

Being better than Andre Gomes is meaningless mate. A piece of rock is better than Andre Gomes.

that said, I don't get the impression Mctominay has any real future here unless he's happy rotating from the bench every few games and he's young enough where he should be hungry for consistent starts. Unless he suddenly starts putting in elite performances when he gets a chance, top teams, in the PL especially aren't exactly known for being patient unless you're already at the top level and we lespecially love trading in old toys for new ones.

Laughing I still remember when we Beat Chelsea during his first run and he complained that we were playing youth players in defence because at the time Chelsea had no youth team.

19 - Since Sir Alex Ferguson retired at the end of the 2012-13 season, no Premier League team has drawn more matches nil-nil than Manchester United (19, level with Southampton). Dull.
