My main "nightmare" is if we lose CL place because of goal difference (-5 goals from lazio)
Possible if we win this , Lazio ties in Crotone and then we tie last match against Lazio (first leg was 0-0 but away goals don't count here as it is in CL)
In fact if we beat Sassuolo, I prefer Lazio victory over their tie against Crotone...of course best scenario is we win and Zenga team too ...

It will come down to the final game.
It wasn't chocking, I watched the whole match and Atalanta dominated Lazio .
It is unreal, Lazio has never shor for the whole 2nd half while Atalanta missed easy chances
Strakosha played an Alisson-esque match
Golden point for Lazio.
Atalanta has repeated another excellent league though, congrats to them

Relegation fodder won't stop this Lazio. Our only hope is to beat them in Rome. The ghost of the past that stil haunts the Interisti is irrelevant here. None of these players know anything about that game other than 4.choice keeper and maybe Rano. I hope both Immobile and Luis Aberto are back for this game. The most deserving team should make the CL, and if we beat them without their two most important players it won't feel deserved imho.

Mediapro loses Serie A tender
By Football Italia staff
Sky has won its appeal for Mediapro to have its tender for Serie A television rights revoked.
The Court of Milan reached its verdict on Wednesday, with judge Claudio Maragoni arguing Mediapro’s tender was ‘not properly formulated’ and ‘violated Antitrust principles’.
The Spanish broadcaster won Serie A’s TV rights for 2018-21 in February, but its purchase was quickly challenged by Sky, which felt the former was not in a legal position to buy them.
Consequently, the bidding process is expected to start over, which will also allow Mediaset back in, although it remains to be seen whether Mediapro will launch a second bid.
The football may be getting better, but administratively this league is still a flaming dumpster. Liverpool are out buying 70m rated Ligue 1 stars and this league can't even decide how to televise their matches. Embarrassing.

Costacurta confirms B teams
By Football Italia staff
FIGC sub-commissioner Alessandro Costacurta confirms Serie A clubs will be allowed to enter B teams into the Lega Pro from next season.
The move has long been wanted by Juventus and the Milan clubs in particular, and it has been increasingly reported in recent weeks that changes would be made.
“Serie A clubs can ask to register their second team in the Lega Pro,” Costacurta confirmed today.
“The B teams will be composed of Under-21 players, with the opportunity to introduce two under-23s outside of the quota.
“Any second team that a Serie A club decides to register will play in the Lega Pro, and will take the place of a club that doesn’t register.
“This year there will be no wild cards [for teams which narrowly miss the registration criteria] and the holes will be filled by the teams who adhere to this announcement.
“And they will have to have a minimum number of players eligible for the Italian national team, a number we’re defining.
“The B teams can be promoted or relegated, with one limitation: they can never play in the same division as the first team.”
Long overdue, but wow Costacurta seems to have gone out on a limb by himself here as neither Serie B nor Lega Pro appear to have been aware of this announcement. What a mess of an announcement for something that actually benefits calcio. These guys can't seem to get out of their own way.

Were they not aware? Costacurta had already said it was coming like two weeks ago publicly. I posted it a few pages ago.
It's a great thing.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread: Part 3
Its actually an amazing development, honestly.
This is what the league has needed for decades, instead of these giant loan pools, and tacit agreements with lesser clubs, we can have no transfer of ownership, and a seemless interchange of players within a club. This will give so many young players a chance they need to develop instead of coming on late game for a meaningless sub, or having to go to another country where the playing ability and style is different, but the playtime is there.
For all this mismanagement, turmoil, and general malaise, ands well as Mancini's appointment, this is one of the better developments, and is quite exciting

B teams will be good for the club and football in general. They are U21 teams with 2(?) U23 spots. The primavera system is not good enough. Having the kids play against proper teams will help their development. Besides that it should reduce the bloated loan system and offer alternatives for clubs to play their youth players more.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread: Part 3
The B teams are just an overrated thing, Kids can still play against proper teams in Serie C, there is not need to create B teams for it.
Simply if you are good you play in Serie B, if you are scrub you play in Serie C.
You should know as Juve fan that your young players constantly are loaned for it. Teams accept it.
It is an egoistic vision for who thinks football is just for who suppports big teams.
There are not just Inter Juve Milan etc fans .
I am used to follow Serie C for clubs as Sambenedettese that will take away their chances because we must watch these plastic B teams to ruin the league.
Not anymore Sambenedettese-Ancona or Pisa-Livorno to create regional hype - football is also this ,it is not just Inter-Juve, because we must watch the youth teams with no fans , no history , that are nothing - because this is not football simply.
Hands off the Serie C.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread: Part 3
Is it better to have instead every single player loaned out than to have a team were they can be coached in line with the club? Its like you say, at Juve more than any other club the example is shown that the primavera team is pointless as all the good ones get loaned out. Its a system that needs fixing.
There is a downside with a few Serie C teams that won't make it but better football can be developed. It will eventually help a lot.
Besides, the B teams can promote and relegate like any other, they won't always all be tied to Serie C.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread: Part 3
Come on now... we're talking about a couple of B teams filled with "talented" youngsters to integrate the 3rd level of Italian football. In place of clubs that cannot even register properly for the competition, so Pisa-Livorno will still exist.
Tired of loaning a dozen of youth players each year, because Primavera league is too shit, and therefore helping potentially rival clubs who are in financial shambles and don't deserve help.
Juve B/Milan B certainly won't be plastic teams, if anything they might promote to Serie B quickly.
Finally FIGC does something good.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread: Part 3
I just wish this has been more of an organized rollout though. Just dropping this on Serie B and Lega Pro, who both don't appear to have approved of it, for next season is super aggressive as far as timeframes go. At least another year is needed to work out details and proper planning. Next season is too soon.
I personally think many of the leagues best players have come up not because of the primavera system, but in spite of it. Because they are good enough. The B-team system probably will help to better highlight that talent against better competition.

It is not just Livorno Pisa , it is also Real Marcianise >>> teams B
I am grown so and I don' t want that it is ruined from this plastic football. I' ve always followed Serie C too and I hate the idea of taking away football to some places because of youth team
Teams B are good for Spanish football perhaps
Nothing to do with Italian footbal.
Italian football has a glorious tradition also for the minor leagues
Who cares of NT too

You dislike the idea because, in your opinion, this will dilute the provincial charm of Serie C ? And i am sure many people who live in small towns in Italy have had those thoughts.
Maximum 4 clubs would have a purpose of creating a B team.
But overall, this is a solution worth trying for the mess that italian football is. Far less of an injustice than what you describe.

Classic Inter performance. You just knew this was coming considering this was a must win game. So many bottlers in their side with Icardi among the biggest of the lot. Apparently this is Sassuolo's 3rd straight win over Inter at the San Siro.
Surely Lazio are not going to choke tomorrow. Surely....

I truly hope Lazio destroys Crotone tomorrow and secure that 4th spot trophy. They deserved it with their style of play and the way they have destroyed the minnows this season. I don't watch the EL anyways as idgaf about that comp.
This is some weird times for Inter fans as we are owned by one of the biggest companies in China yet the mofos won't spend, making excuses about the FFP and the Chinese gov. I hope an Italian billionere steps forward and buys the club. F the chinese excuses. I'm sick of it.
