Looked mostly unlucky, to me. He didn’t expect it to rebound off the post, so he had to stretch out his leg to connect with the ball, which limited the power and angle of the shot. The goalie did well to save it with his leg, still. I suppose you could argue that Jovic should’ve anticipated the rebound, as well as the trajectory of it, but that’s a bit harsh, I think

You have to understand, when you're not a fan of the club and just a player, you post horseshit like what Varangel did because, simply put, the love for the club is not there. No actual fan would post that as Jovic is a Madrid player and is carded as an investment for the future (or immediate tbh) and we all want our guys to succeed. In any case, Jovic is 23 in a new league, new team and in a new country. He has a lot of learning and I personally do not think Madrid is gonna wait around for longer than a season for him to fully catch himself but at the same time, I think he has the ability to succeed here. If he doesn't, well, Madrid would just buy someone else. Anelka was bought for 30 plus million (maybe 20+, can't remember), he was rubbish bar a few CL games and Madrid ended up buying someone else. I don’t know if you’re joking, they’re clearly, obviously the same person. I’m sure Chad wants to have a go at Jovic, but he knows we would just write it off as him protecting Benzema, as that’s what he’s done with our past strikers, and that’s simply the only thing he’s capable of doing with every inch of talent in his body. Instead, he plays the level-headed, patient guy (those are extinct on this forum) and lets Varangel do the criticizing for him.

I think we're front runners for him if we bring in Ødegaard though. At the same time would be good. It means a lot for player that they know they'll be treated well if we are to lure them to our club. Summer 21 would be perfect to get them both since I think Benzema will be 100% shot by that time and no striker is getting a chance over him.

I meant this summer, a deal could be done.

I feel bad for him too because he was treated unfairly from the get-go. He wasn't given enough playing time to even familiarize himself with the Spanish league, and then the media haunted him like hounds publishing every mistake he made to make the fanbase turn on him too. I mean how dare a 23-year old act reckless at times?!

Hope he regains his form at Frankfurt and I also hope Madrid stops buying young prospects and destroying their careers like that.

its not necessarilly about prospects. jovic was a 'safe' buy; meaning, not good enough to where if he is benched there would be any complaints, and not a mayoral type player to where you cant really rely on him. there are some guys u sign and u look at their cache and u go okay that dude has to play. jovic wasnt that, and madrid and zizou didnt have any plans of buying that. when we signed him, i knew immediately what it was which was why my first post about him was that he will be consigned to the bench and wont get minutes......and i had never even seen him play football at all, but i knew the outcome of that move

Zidane confirmed in the media meet today that Jovic didn't adapt well to the league and Spain.

Jovic seems to have the same personality as Bale.

Zidane likes players who are confident in themselves and have a great relationship with the squad.

It's all about the squad. That's why he likes Lucas Vazquez so much. Hard worker, confident and the squad loves him.
