Confirmed: The name of the third UEFA club competition will be UEFA Europa Conference League.

The new competition will start in 2021 and is aimed at giving more clubs in more countries a chance to participate in European football.

Seems fine, although it takes some edge from the mid level teams in the league, because they too have to play more.

More money for lesser teams and younger players can get some extra experience, nothing wrong with it.

The new competition would reportedly have four groups of eight teams in the group phase, with the top six in each group qualifying for the following editions regardless of where they finish in the domestic competition. There are fears it would benefit the continent's biggest clubs with new barriers in place for non-elite clubs.

Yeah this is bullshit. Qualification should depend on domestic leagues.

The only league that could survive a potential move of European games to weekends would be the EPL. This would be an ugly result for all other leagues.
