Really? I'm a Barça fan and I'm not sure Villa is better. I would say they are very close. I was very impressed by Rooney in the CL final too.

AS strikers there is no comparison, lok at thier stats ffs. When did you stat watching football? Villa has been consistent at the highest level. But as i said rooney is more than goas.

For the national team I would take Villa but club level Rooney has been better. I think David Villa has been dissapointing lately though, but he has been consistant the years before that.

villa has been consistent throughout.. just because he plays for a team i hate doesnt mean we can overlook his contributions.. and for all saying rooney contributes more true enough but villa does the same.. he is not an out and out striker.. his off the ball movement is great and his link up play with messi is fantastic to watch, plus over his whole career hes been better..so villa.. though rooney was overrated a while ago and nows he a bit underrated or hes just matured..

I think Rooney is better by far.. He has amazing finishes along with great long passes and is a team player..
I will limit Villa to a good striker who gets the end results of the Barca play...

Yep because he wasnt scoring 20+ goals a season plus assists for Valencia and Zaragoza

I wouldn't say far better but Rooney edges it for me

Well Rooney is something like 4 years younger and Villa was still improving at Rooney's age , but I would take Rooney into my team because he can play make as well. Scores headers as well something Villa can not do.

Funny, just a year ago Villa was regarded as the best forward alive (not counting Messi and CR)

He switches teams and has to alter his role, now most people seem to think that he's just a good player, nothing special. He has been a brilliant player for years.

Rooney is very good too and I feel he's underrated a bit. But Villa still edges it for me.

Yeah, I remember. It's just the inevitable knee-jerk reactions that come with good or bad form (I have to admit I myself do it sometimes too lol).

I regarded Villa as the best striker in the world when he was playing for Valencia. Not that sure about now but he's in the same bracket as Eto'o for me, two of the best strikers there are.
