INTERNATIONALS: CECH SHINES, TORRES AND DAVID LUIZ WIN
Posted on: Tue 07 Jun 2011 @http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2372909,00.html
Petr Cech carried his club form onto the international stage on Tuesday night in Japan when he proved unbeatable to earn Czech Republic a share of the annual Kirin Cup.
The Chelsea Player of the Year produced a string of outstanding second-half saves to keep out the host nation. One save from a header and a follow-up block drew gasps of admiration from the crowd in Yokohama.
The game ended 0-0, as did the Czech Republic's meeting with Peru on Friday. With another stalemate in Japan v Peru ensuring the three-team tournament ended without a single goal, the sides ended with identical records.
Fernando Torres was a 63rd minute substitute for Spain in their 3-0 friendly away in Venezuela, all the goals coming in the first half. David Luiz played from the start in Brazil's 1-0 home win over Romania, a match that acted as a farewell for their legendary striker Ronaldo, who retired last season. Ronaldo played 15 minutes of the game in Sao Paulo but missed three chances. Ramires did not play following his red card in the weekend game.
Yury Zhirkov was a 55th minute sub in Russia's 0-0 draw with Cameroon, a game played in Salzburg in Austria.
On Monday night, Florent Malouda was a second-half substitute as France came back from one goal down to beat Ukraine 4-1 away in a friendly. The score was 1-1 when the Chelsea man was one of three new players introduced on 64 minutes. France scored three times in the final three minutes

Re: Chelsea Beyond the seas
Yeah he plays RWF and he is physically not that great to compete in the box. So he fits in the taking corner role perfectly lol.
