Huguain and Di Maria get to play with both Messi and Ronaldo. I wonder what they think about both.

I reckon they'll think Messi's more predictable (and probably more consistent) in attack, while Ronaldo's less consistent but also less predictable in attack.

After getting rid of the stepovers that were pointless, he's been very surprising in his general play IMO.

Ronaldo step overs are misunderstood IMO. He doesn't do them to pas anyone he just does them to keep the defender at bay while he's thinking of his next move.

However he has done some useless tricks a number of times. Difficult tricks but still useless Razz

actually now that i think of it, higuain only recently has REALLY showed how clinical he can be, but ever since he came back from injury he hasnt had problems, hes gone from 60 percent which is still god to 85-90 percent

he scored a hat trick against valencia, which no one talked about Suspect

and started meh in the copa america but left with a kinda good rating, then hes benched in real because benzema is/was in better form, and now ever since that goal he had against getafe hes shown his worth when he come on, with 2 hat tricks

higuain is one hella good player when it comes to going up the ranks, and thats applaudable.

goal scoring machine, and i hope he stays healthy, hes still young, and i just wish he showed more in big games.

everyone can point out the legendary personal moments hes had, like the goal vs espanyol, and a few against barca, but he still has yet to show me anything of value in the cl and against pep's barca, against who he has scored against only once.

higgy has to be the best in the big games, again many examples can be given, but that specific opinion will always be valid.

i trust benzema more in big games, if higuain did just as well and even better, hes top 5 striker in the world (not saying benz is that atm)

It's pretty obvious that both enjoy playing with Messi more...................as would anyone.

Obviously it's easier to play with someone from the same country but I do generally think that Di Maria and Higuain like playing with Cristiano as well, especially when things are going well on the pitch.

I watched the game Crimson, although i was joking here. Just emphasizing the knee-jerk reactions here.

But the game highlighted the huge problem with Higuain... he has only one facet. If the people who service him are pressured, he can't adjust his game to help in other ways (build up, link up, etc.). He'll only contribute if the flow of the game accommodates his style. No ability to adjust.

That problem is far from "huge" though.

Higuain plays well = Team played well

Team played well = Higuain played well

That's a good relationship to have with your striker. And seriously the whole Higuain can't link up thing has to die because it's simply not true.

Against tougher opponents, you don't have your way. You have to adjust and deal with the other team taking you out of your comfort zone. Against weaker opponents, sure... Higuain will be great.

You would prefer players that can change the tide of the game in your favor as opposed to ones that just go with the flow. Gamechangers are more of a premium.

nothing to do with Benz playing or not Adit... just pointing out that some players have the ability to adjust to different circumstances while others don't. When we had zero midfield (no sahin, khedira, coentrao and with di maria playing), it became the job of CR7, Ozil and Benz to adjust themselves to help the areas where we were struggling... Higuain can help on the wing without a problem, but he can't play lower and playmake. Doesn't have that quality.

LOL, yeah, knee jerk on this place is hilarious at times.

It's not that he cant link up Z, it's simply that he is not that good at it. Higuain is heavily reliant on the service behind him to impact the game, because he will hardly make the difference on his own. It's not part of his strength, but it's ok, that's not the kind of player he is.

Arg coach made some retarded choices last night tho.

Messi and Higuain were isolated and were subject to hoof ball tactics to even touch the ball due to Argentina's absolute joke of a formation 3-5-2 lmao

Not Messi's or Higuains problem imo

sometimes, you're going to be isolated... whether it's due to coaching retardedness (in this case) or a bad midfield (our case with with di maria in and everyone in midfield injured). Messi tried to adjust... Higuain drifted. Needed to get close to Messi and create space with 1-2 linkup.

Everyone knows that's not Higuain's strength though. No surprise. He does need to get proficient enough at it though like Gomez. Too big of a weakness. Main reason that he doesn't get a true shot at becoming an uncontested starter.

So whats Benzema's excuse for all his horrible games for France?

Or is that not his fault? is that the coaches and poor team mates and poor tactics?

Seriously we get it you hate Higuain .....

Benz carried France in Euro qualifying dude... he scored key goals and gave key assists game after game despite have shit for a midfield. In fact, he was a one-man offense most games because we had no AM with Diaby and Nasri hurt and out of form since early 2011. In his last 13 games for France NT, he has 5 goals and 4 assists... doesn't have Ozil and Messi to feed him the ball.

Sportczy trying to bury Higuain is going to get awkward when Benzema gets benched at some point.

So your telling me that other than those 13 games he has scored 8 goals in 27 games?

He might not have Messi but he does have Ribery and Nasri and at least France have a good midfield. Argentina do not. Also lets point out France actually has a decent coach.

I've seen many many many games from Benzema for France where he did exactly nothing. Most of the time I have the forethought to realise that's not his fault and move on though.

Just like the Argentina game. Look at Di Maria for instance wtf was going on there, but I guess his link up play is crap too and Messi's......

To be fair, Sports isn't trying to bury Higuain here.

He is merely describing the nature of his football, and there is nothing wrong with what he said.

Higuain is not going to carry an attack the way Benzema does, and Benzema is not the pure 9 Higuain is.

It's a matter of style, which are you the most admiring of?
