It's truly amazing how he plays. Out-assisted Xaviesta in his very first season at the club and is improving every match.

Anybody noticed how he kept Divecherano away a couple of times by pure strength? I thought Ozil was weak but clearly that's not the case.

Maybe that's just my biased opinion towards Germans.. I might be pushing it a bit, but I really believe that guy has immense potential.

Maybe it is, but I do think he is immense. I mean, it is scary that he will be turning to 23 in October. I rate him higher than Ronaldo, and that is said with 100% honesty. Has a good head on his shoulders, and he is modest which I like. A great player.

He has better technique than Ronaldo. Ronaldo just kicks the ball and follows it with a sprint with hope that he will get there before a defender. The ball just seems to stick to Oezil's feet.. Ronaldo is better than Oezil in the sprinting department, but other than that I would say Oezil is superior.

one of the many reasons that people think cr7 will lose his "touch" or effectiveness once he goes past 30.

i see ozil going into his 30s, 32 maybe 34 and he will still be wc in his own way, kind of like zidane.

I love Ozil as much as the next guy but he is still a bit behind Ronaldo in terms of being the best player on the team.

Agreed, it comes down to his personal ambition and how much he wants to boss the team. If he shows more willingness to come get the ball and boss things around, his game will improve, and his status as well.

That's precisely what Sahin does, he commands the football with presence and positioning.
