Don't get me wrong, Bendtner is nowhere near world class but why loan him out to Juve and pay millions for a player who hasn't done anything to prove he's better than the Dane? Just my 2 cents, I thought Bendtner was very good for Sunderland last season.

Giroud. 36 games, 24 starts, 14 goals and 9 assists. He's on pace for 20+ goals and 10+ assists. Of course, he's not RVP or even very good yet. But he is good. I dare people to name how many players are going to have 20/10 this year.

Olivier Giroud - Page 7 Empty Re: Olivier Giroud

Post by Great Leader Sprucenuce Sun Feb 17, 2013 5:49 pm

Arsenal's problem isn't Giroud or even creativity in midfield....

The problem is the front 3 all do the same things, when your struggling to break down stubborn defenses you don't want a front 3 like Podolski-Giroud-Walcott.

They all want to do the same things and thus easy to defense against.

There needs to be creativity and variety in the front 3 for them to be more consistent and unpredictable.

The reason it worked last season because they usually had Walcott on the right( crashes the box) Van Persie through the middle who was able to crash the box, drop deep, create etc etc and on the left they usually had someone like Benayoun which sounds silly but it gave the attack more variation.

Giroud has been great at times and honestly Podolski and Walcott have done at times, but for Arsenal to get the most from what ever front 3 they choose to deploy there needs to be variation and creativity and at the moment they don't have that.

Add a creative forward and perhaps a winger who can pass in the summer and rotate the 5 and you will probably get more out of the likes of Giroud, Walcott and Podolski.

Its more a tactical problem Arsenal face this season than any individual problem.

This is what you call a complete striker. If he tries hard he might one day reach Walcott's level Laughing
