Sorry... but that was a great shot. You just hit it hard and put it on target when a ball comes from a wing like that. Neuer just happened to be standing in the right place. He's had poor finishes this year, but that wasn't one of them.

Whenever Giroud starts the whole team plays much better because Giroud seeks attention and leaves space for Podolski and Walcott on both wings. Why Wenger experiments in such big games is beyond me.

lol 10 yards out, he manages to hit the keeper and you still call it a great shot?

Also for all those thinking it was Giroud who started Arsenal's attack, it is all bull. Arsenal had Walcott up front for the majority of the match and players were playing long balls to him for Bayern's CBs who are inches taller than him to easily clear  Bayern already 3-1 up trying to run the clock down by sitting deep, it had got nothing to do with Giroud that Arsenal finally had one shot on goal Laughing

He is not Arsenal quality, even though our quality has dropped. French league is a fraud, Gervias first and now Giroud.

Or it could be the HORSE meat? hmm

You're of the mindset that, if we don't sign Cavani/Falcao/Shaaraway etc, then every striker we DO sign isn't "Arsenal quality"

I tell you, if Henry signed with us today as a 23 year old, he'd be ripped to shreds by people on here

He's a scrub Lex.

Not even on Demba Ba's/Papiss Cisse's level.

A scrub is a Torres that can't get no starts from Rafa, hanging on the passenger side of Demba's ride

Lex, we have to be real, Henry is still twice the play Girud is at his old age. We dont need a WC striker, we need a quality striker that fits our system.

I have no faith in Giroud, I wish I did, I just dont see him getting any better or faster. I hope he can prove me wrong, we are stuck with him for another 4 years.

He's a good squad player . He is 27 so i don't expect him to improve that much. Not everybody is Drogba. If at least he fit in the system it would have been okay . But he doesn't so i don't see the point of having him.

We really are going for the wrong guys.

well sure he'd be great to have in addition to someone like Suarez. The whole reason he gets a lot of flack is Because we have no forwards even close to Suarez's level. Giroud is a good player but he's not an explosive forward that you can rely on to score, which this team desperately needs

Lex, you don't need a Cavani or a Falcao - you just need someone that can play the Arsenal way.

He's no better than a squad player in that Arsenal squad. Fact is, he can be a very good player for another side. He's a lot like Carroll or Torres in that respect. These type of players need the team to be based around them for them to do their job. Giroud simply doesn't fit into that Arsenal side. He's no where near talented enough to change his style of play to accomodate himself to the Arsenal side. I have the same beliefs with Mertesacker. If you guys can replace those two, I have no doubt you guys would improve drastically.

Giroud is twice the player Carroll is. As much as I love Andy, he lacks in every department compared to Giroud except in the air.

He's easily better than Carroll but he's not twice the player of Carroll. Regardless, no point signing a man from a rival club with a 4 year contract near his name. Especially when he wouldn't suit our style either.
