Is Penaldo possibly the worst freekick taker ever?

Ballooned many freekicks tonight and never really puts any sort of accuracy on them.

He does this most games I see him in.

He aims for the goalkeeper to make a mistake, a decent keeper should save most of Ronaldos freekicks.

His freekick-to-goal ratio is beyond poor

When he hits em right they are such sweet shots, but..

He takes pretty much all of Madrid's direct FKs and he blows way too many. There are other players on RM who can surely take a good FK, no?

robben also scored a penalty he also created 3-4 chances for team-mates. ronaldo created 0, others will create and he will score sitters and penalties

obviously not as bad as you make it sound, but vastly, vastly overrated in the FK department.

Madrid would score more by delivering into the box than letting C.Ronaldo balloon it into the stands or hit the wall...

One of the best, IMO. Not of all time, mind you, but in these times I'd say so.

Yeah, agree he is not the worst, definitely. But he is very overrated in this regard.

He'll still score more FK's than most players. Plus he takes them from long range most of the time.

To be fair, he also has triple the amount of FK's of most players...

The worst free kick taker would never have scored a free kick in his life.

And to those defending him by saying he takes them from bad angles and far out well isn't that a sign of being a bad freekick taker? Not being able to choose what to do? I wouldn't mind but he doesn't even try to aim it, he just does that gimpy stance and then balloons it.

Ill admit he has scored some screamers but for the amount of FK's he takes you'd imagine a few would go in.

One of the best is laughable IMO.

Better freekick takers than Ronaldo: Del Piero, Pirlo, De Rossi, Di Natali, S.Larrson, Xavi, Alonso, Snjieder, VdV, Van Persie, Beckham and at a long shot Drogba.. That's just off the top of my head.

Another is Ronaldinho, juninho is still playing isn't he? That's atleast 14 better freekick takers than him and I'v not even added Lampard, Gerrard or Rooney.

Anyone think of any more?

That's no one but his fault...

Excuse for long distance here... Who cares just let him take it closer then and let Alonso or Ozil to take it long as they should be doing most of the time.

Stupid angles as in he takes it in a tight angle. We let alonso cross it in alot as well, him and ronaldo do what they want with the free kicks, and they can make some beautiful plays with them as well.

Del piero and pirlo are the only ones I can say safely are definitely better then ronaldo at fks.

Van persie has been quite bad at fks this season. Lampard scores a decent fk and now hes a goat?

Xavi is useless with fks if he's not close enough to the goal. He doesn't have enough power on them.
