Giorgio Chiellini - Not good

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. This is why I was most worried about Italy, not because of our wingbacks like Maggio or Criscito like some were, or a bad trequartista, etc. etc. it's this man, this fantastic tackler, but choke artist : Giorgio Chiellini.
I've stressed again and again and again, he is not better than Barzagli, he is not that classic great Italian defender, he chokes when we need him the most. Barzagli > Bonucci > Chiellini.

and now we might be out of euro.

Because he made a mistake? Everyone does. Italy is gonna get out of Euros not because of their bad defending but because of their awful attack.

I'll be the first to admit he's abit rash at times but Chiellini is the best Italian CB right now, there's no denying. This De Rossi>>> bullshit is so kneejerky I think you should visit a doctor for this problem.

It's unfair comparing him to Nesta and Maldini because they have similar styles of defending compared to Gorgio.

Let's put it this way, he may have had a bad match and may have had a few bumps with Juve along the way but he's ALWAYS played with awful defenders but he has a season with atleast 2 other decent defenders and look at the lack of goals we conceded. We Juve fans who follow him week in week out since he broke through have always know he is a great great defender (albeit a tendency to lose concentration during matches occasionally) and have always know with a few decent defenders around him he would become a worldclass player.

I think having Chiellini in the teams isn't as huge as a problem your making it out to be. I think rational people would Infact call it a blessing.

Your better than this Zarola, you usually don't post like this about Italian football atleast.

The man missed-timed his jump & all of sudden he's the worst player in the galaxy...
I bet after that no one notice the clearance he made, about 3 consecutive headers!

He did not mistime a jump. He did no stay with or watch his man. Amateur or yong player mistake.

He made two crucial mistakes when it mattered in both games, he is a good player......not legendary. I don't think he should be mentioned in the same breath as Maldini, Nesta, Baresi, and Cannavaro

Chiellini has been fantastic in both games( the mistake aside) even your hero's Cannavaro, Nesta, Maldini, Baresi etc etc all of them made mistakes....

Chiellini has been fantastic all season long and Bonucci and Barzagli better?

The difference between Italy with Chiellini and without is like Milan without Thiago Silva and with him

Italy's problem is not defence, it is creating chances.... speaking of defence Maggio was awful today a lot worse than Chiellini.

Also mistakes in both games? there was no mistake against Spain it was a mixture of Giach and Bonucci that was at fault for Spains goal not Chiellini.

And DDR better than Chiellini? OMG the kneejerk on this place sometimes is ridiculous.....

Chiellini is a WC defender, one mistake doesnt change that and it is just one mistake not the crap that is being spouted in this thread.

If not Chiellini then who? Ogbonna? the 24 year old Serie B defender who was'nt even the best Serie B defender
