As their teams would provide anything for Italy smh.
But, Italy's never been a good scoring team, they were good defending tho [/quote]
Partially true that. But to say Italy are bad at defending today is ridiculous though. I watched the game till the 79th minute, and till that minute, Croatias goal was their only pure slip in defense.
Italy was playing a secure and pretty solid game to a great team until Motta went out, or better said, (mole style) Montoshitto came in.
C'mon, even you know Chiello is one of the worlds best defenders, but if you decide to try and troll my sensitive fellow Juve fans you're not doing that good my fella.

Re: Giorgio Chiellini - Not good
I'm with both sides here. Chiellini is a good defender, the goal was totally his fault but everyone makes mistakes, he's nowhere near as bad as some people are making him out to be and he is definitely better than Bonera. Every defender playing professional football is better than Bonera (except against Barca )
But Chiellini>Silva, Chiellini>Stam, what the *bleep* am I reading? To the Juve fan who said that Milanisti would happily exchange Chiellini for Silva, that will happen only if we suffered severe brain damage. And Chiellini will never reach the level of Stam, GTFO. SMH talk about overrating.

Re: Giorgio Chiellini - Not good
I've said this before.
He is incredibly overrated in my opinion, he is a thug, very clumsy and lacks a brain. (or just doesnt have a good one overall)
I really think he is at the same level of Pepe, not really higher. Both are similair in the way that they're physical beasts rather than tactical defenders. And Chielleni is no way near the level of Thiago Silva ( )
He is a good player, but he is very overrated aswell.

Re: Giorgio Chiellini - Not good
Many of the posts in this thread are just downright ridiculous.
I was shocked when somebody said that Bonucci > Chiellini. My friend, how many Juve games have you watched?
imo Chiellini isn't overrated, but is rated just fine - as a top 5-10 centre-back.
Those who have been saying that he's been committing 2-3 mistakes every game for Juve this season, please show me proof because that's the most ridiculous thing I've read along with "Bonucci > Chiellini".

I don't know what this has to do with the topic because I haven't read all of it, but AC Milan Stam was still GOAT... and an absolute psycho-beast-destroyer-box-to-box-sweeper on FIFA back in the day.danyjr wrote:Hint: United's Stam >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> AC Milan's Stam

that somehow makes him have a good footballing mind?seriously some people here have got to atleast try to comprehend things a little differently rather than look at the obvious things and base their point on that one little detail.

Two? The first game was 100% Giaccherini, he began tracking the run and then stopped lmao
Second game, 100% Chiellini but if you don't think he was monstrous in both games then by all means, continue on
Italy can't defend one goal leads, simple as that

Anyway. Anyone who actually understands how Juve's defence worked will see that Barzagli was the one that made the defence successful with his reading of the front line players and his excellent timing. To call chiellini a scrub is silly, but hes not exactly the best either. Its ok to admit it, he has been mistake prone in the past and wasnt Juventus best defender. In the line up we have right now, hes probably the best df Italy have.
Hes good, but he isnt the GOAT... I can actually see Bonucci ending up better overall than him in the future
Perhaps King's post is the only legit post by a Juventino in this thread .
With no bias or over rating or half truths about Chiellini. Congrats King . Maybe explain this to the guy who said Milan fans would happily swap Silva with Chiellini.
Chiellini isn't that shit as some make him out to be , but lol that a Milanista would swap Silva for him . There's more chance to see Pescara win Serie A next season .

Indeed. Here is him using that degree in Economics and Business to full effect:
The guy is as much of a thug as Pepe and both have the same weaknesses. Both cover it up by being physical beasts.
So overrated here. Pepe > Chiellini.

Since when does having a degree make someone intelligent? Do you know how many dumb-asses skim by University with D's and end up with degrees? Also, how does a degree in business relate to footballing smarts?

He completed his PhD in economics
Dr. Giorgio
And that's not really any sort of point to make, but being a professional footballer for a massive club which pays you millions and still continuing with your education makes you a very smart person.

Beyond excessive
Chiellini is not a thug, he is a physical player but not a thug by any means
Awful comparison
When has Chiellini intentionally tried to hurt a player? When has he received a red card for a moment of absolute madness? When has he stomped on an opposing player? When has he taken a kick at his own player?
Never.
Chiellini is a world class defender.
Italy is not good enough to defend a one goal lead, that's really what the first two games has showed us more than anything. Chiellini massively *bleep* up for that Croatia goal, but lets be real, Italy didn't even show up for the second half.

And, he is a much better player overall
