Giorgio Chiellini vs Sergio Ramos

As an all round defender, I say Giorgio and I know it's hands down, but once the votes come in ama link someone who believes otherwise

Well its obvious people will knee-jerk on this one with the EUROS just having finished ,a tournament in which Chiellini faced fitness issues and was played out of position in a few games and we do know there are people who are quick to jump on his mistakes and discredit his ability in every way possible ,while in the same tournament Ramos has done exceedingly well for Spain..

I think you do know where the votes are going on this one considering the enormous Madrid fanbase on here.

Chiellini has had an amazing season for Juve, but was played out of position the Euros and came back off an injury.

So, I vote Chiellini

Ramos got my vote

At the moment Ramos.

I love Ramos (Barca suppporter), seems to play consistently play at RB or CB and has the same aggression he puts in every game. Haven't seen much of Chellini at LB tbh so I can't judge him...

I'd say Ramos. He's just all round better imo. More agile too.

Ramos is the all round better football player. I dare say he's a better defender to but that's an unpopular opinion.

While both defenders are error-prone, if I had to choose one for my team I'd choose Chiellini.

I love Ramos but I'd take Cheillini by far as it's not even close. People love to knee jerk here

He played more as a CB than as a LB but he played a number of times as a LB, I wouldn't say 'most' of the season, but part of it

well considering he has played as lb quite a few times you can say he wasnt in his preferred position but not exactly 'out of position' ' which would be like playing him as dm or something..

That's fair, he started his career as a LB after all
Lets just say LB isn't his strongest position, but really it boils down to him being hurt

He should not have played in this tournament at all for me

Meh Chiellini.

Romos is faster and that's about it. Chiellini's the better Defender.

I'sd take Ramos on my team though.

Coming from an Italian, I'd still say Ramos. Honestly I don't rate Chiellini too highly. Everyone says I'm crazy for it, but he does not compare to Maldini, Nesta, Cannavaro, Baresi and the list goes on. I don't think we have any defenders in the like the ones I just mentioned. Hopefully someone will surprise me and blossom into what I expect from a classy Italian center back, but right now there aren't any.

Does Ramos compare to the names you listed?
I wouldn't compare Chiellini to players of that list, that isn't even fair!

No Ramos doesn't I was just talking about why I don't rate Chiellini that's all. I in all honestly would prefer Barazgli over Chiellini.

Fair enough, I was actually just curious.
For me, Barzagli had a fantastic year but Chiellini has had many fantastic years, that's the difference between them.

I hope that Chiellini can pick up his form for the sake of Italy, since in all honesty he had a mediocre euro cup.

Agreed, although he was playing hurt that's not an excuse.
He was deemed fit enough to play and disappointed, I would have rather him not play at all based on his form (Juventus would too)

Only few things really separate Ramos and Chiellini in a sporting sense but one of them would definitely be one's own bias. A Juventus fan would gladly pick Chiellini and for good reason so would a Real Madrid fan.

Luckily, one can have both in your team and be satisfied which I'm inclined to do although Ramos looks like he is way better with the ball at his feet...
