Over the past few years Barca were very clearly the better side, but right now, neither one of them is clearly better than the other imo. Yes, Madrid won the Super Cup but it was 4-4 on aggregate and the major decider was Valdes' slip.

This season will tell us who is better.

Barca have been very lucky in that they are very efficient with their chances, one of the reason why they always win/draw, we have started to get more clinical now hence we win

half of their wins against us have been extremely undeserved, but we can't complain at being unlucky because missing chances regularly is not about luck....

we always get about 7-10 only in the first half and usually don't score on any of the occasions while they get one and score one hence they win.... but performance wise we have been much much much better than them

Isnt this how Real always are. Barca dominate the game(not possession) make 20 chances & score 1,Real play like Stoke,get 3 chances,score 2 1 via a valdes blunder type & win.

Kudos to real for taking their chances. You need goals to win.

But Real have always been as lucky,probably MUCH luckier than Barca.

Anyways on TOPIC - They are equal & evenly matches. But Real probably have a Superior coach who is tacticallhy very mediocre but there is no one in world football who can get more out of his footballers if he wants to than Mourinho. He is a genius in that regard.


That gives Real a hair-line edge but it's pretty balanced.

Among Barca & Real I think both team are much Weaker than say a couple of years back. Or Maybe Bayern have got a lot better. Then Barca was a very intimidating. Barca still are intimidating although they have blatant weaknesses visible to everyone.

Real,very good but very beatable. I think in the first season of Mourinho at Real these 2 teams were stand-outs,now not that much. I am confident Bayern can beat both of these very good teams.

I think they are currently even atm. Too close to call.

both Super Cups and second leg of the Copa thats 3 games out 6 lets say 5 because we won the last Clasico fair and square, i am tempted to say the loss in the league as well inwhich a draw would have been the true indicator of how the match went but they went away with an undeserved 3-1 win

not to mention the referee have been very lenient towards Barca against us, all those dives when we score on corners, Ramos's red card etc, but to say Barac are better because "they win" is not entirely true because performance wise we do better but get extremely unlucky with our chances not hitting the back of the net

I think possession football is a bad way to face big teams now. They must change their style play more direct and risk more. Possession football gets old and everybody knows how to stop it already. And the worst thing about possession football is that opposite team will always park the bus. With so many skilled players Barca simply can play direct football and kill opposite teams with fast football

Real Madrid are not even better than Barca's B team. Reason they beat barca is that they found a way to stop it. add here defense mistakes and barca injuries last season

Yeah, you'll probably right, but the thing is that with Xavi still on the team, Barcelona can't play direct football, they sure do have the players capable of playing direct such as Cesc, Alexis, Villa and Messi who proved so with other teams, and enough talent in Iniesta, Thiago and co to play beautiful counter attacking football; however the question is are they capable of dumping the style they dominated in for years and adopt to entirely different style, I don't think so, at least not currently!

I think it's pretty even tbh, RM did create a lot of chances in the first half of the 2nd leg, but so did we in the 2nd half of the 1st leg and 2nd leg. But that is based on the supercup. Last season we won most of the clasicos but we lost the most decisive one. Does that mean RM is the better team? Probably, probably not, but I would give it another season before we give a definitive answer

Real Madrid's B team is better than Barca's B team though.

Well, if you go with "could haves" and "should haves", then we could have definitely played a better game as well, especially in the 2nd leg. Our finishing could have been much better, from the 1st leg and the 2nd leg.

I admit the first 30 mins we struggle to cope with madrid but maybe we were just playing like shit and took it too lightly rather than you being good.

My point is, if madrid dominate further matches and gather a winning streak in clasicos both home and away then we can say that they are better than us. Right now however, we cannot say and the best logical conclusion that they are even.

The ref disallowed a legal goal at 3-0 it would have gotten much worse for Barca who didn't even have a shot on target. Barca were comfortably the second best team on the night.

Oh, who cares. I, for one, am happy Madrid has become so good. The clasicos have been mouthwatering contests lately.

I don't see where the recent Super cup result ties into this. First of all, it finished 4-4, and they went through on a very stupid Valdes mistake, so that's hardly what anyone can consider 'better' over two legs.

We dominated Madrid the first leg at least as hard as they did to us for the first half of the second leg. So it's not like they did well both legs, both teams did well one leg and not so good in the other.

At this point I'd say they're fairly even, but I think Barca at their best will comfortably beat Madrid at their best. Of course that's just hypothetical, but that's my opinion.

Last season they were better over the course of La Liga, yes.
