Is there any true Trequartista left in football?

if yes, which one and why?

Francesco Totti and Alessandro Del Piero. Thdy dont play as trequartistas anymore, but that is their natural positions.

of course ADP and Totti, i think their natural positions disappeared in these 5 years of "modern football"

i miss a true trequartista who could play on the right and left side and behind the strikers and at a critical point when all the team was in defense they would take the ball and dribble the defenders and score, or the unpredictable shots.

Isn't a Trequartista just the italian name for the deep-lying forward/AM of a 4-3-1-2?

the modern day trequarista is the likes of mata, ozil, gotze and co. there are no true trequaristas left though

yeah, i dont really like this "modern football" lots of players loosing their natural positions, imo gotze is the best trequartista, he is young and can develop as a player

Gotze is the closest thing to a trequartista nowadays besides Totti and ADP. The half way point between an AM and SS.

No mention of Jovetic? Closest to ADP we have nowadays.

fair enough, Jovetic is how ADP used to be when he was young, gotze is how ADP was these last years. But I really miss a true trequartista

They are not trequartistas. Totti and Baggio are example of trequartistas. They were given no defensive repsonibvilties but shouldered pretty much all the creative burden of their teams. None of those guys do that and they all have to work, bar Lazy ass Messi, but Messi is a striker. I don't gaf about the whole false 9 BS. He is Barcelona's focal point up front. He is the antithesis of a target man but still has the same function.

It's the same position, what varies is what coaches demand of them.

So to be a trequartista you have to be

A. Lazy?

B. Have funtional but less talented teammates who dont have the capacity to create?

Then good, they are "gone" in my opinion.

well have no defesnive responsibility lol

and most of the trequartistas were the fantasistis of their team. They shouldered pretty much all their teams creaticve burden. by the late 90s it was the worst position to play.

of course not, I think that you don't like Italian football, if you did I think you would know for what kind of trequartista I was talking for,
its that kind of player that doesn't have many defensive responsibilities, the player who runs and dribbles, has perfect shot technique, doesn't score very often but makes scoring chances, and is able to play behind the strikers and on both sides depending on his shooting foot.
Have you seen ADP or Totti play, they were the typical Italian trequartista players.

You are again describing an attacking midfielder.
