Likely that it is the Chessani children. Tony has the same chin and the ages match up.
My other, way less likely theory, is that it's the Cisco kid and his sister, who would be the bartender.
Besides the regulars at that party, there was the guy who announced he was running for Governor(he played Masuka in Dexter).
There's a few low key suspicious characters that are going to either be red herrings or directly involved imo. Lt. Burris was heavily implied to be that cop that told the girl Irene to pawn the stuff. The other two I'll save just in case, but one was in this recent episode, one was not.

List of important people that were on the party.
- Spoiler:
- Attorney General Geldof: He is the current Gubernatorial candidate Geldof (investigated Vinci for the state; closed the case after the shootout with the Mexican meth gang; is now running for Governor with a "big warchest"; allegedly colluded with Vinci's mayor, but that's unconfirmed)
Chief Holloway of Vinci PD: He & Burris asked Ray Velcoro to be their eyes & ears on the Caspere case, & asked him to pin it on "a pimp" if he could.
McCandless of Catalyst: He owns most of the land in the corridor, which was polluted by Frank's waste management company Acheron; was meant to sell land to Frank & Osip through Caspere, who was murdered, & who had a car & a WeHo home paid for by Catalyst -- also, the deal was for 10 parcels for $ 7 million, although Caspere was charging $ 10 million, ostensibly pocketing $ 3 million for doing the deal; & who is now offering Frank 5 parcels, gifted, if he can recover Caspere's hard drive, which, thanks to Pitlor, we know contains footage of McCandless.
Osip: Russian mobster that was meant to provide the other $ 5 million for Frank's deal through Caspere's but backed off last minute.
Blake: Frank's henchman, who is involved in throwing the parties with Tony Chessani; connection to everyone else unknown. He's dealing with other people behinds Frank's back.
Tony Chessani: He's the mayor's son; conceived of throwing these parties with Caspere; they got Pitlor involved to turn "8s into 10s"; allegedly doing this behind his father's back -- the father who expressed that he worries his son is a "destroyer"
Feel free to tell me if I need to add somebody.

Re: True Detective || HBO
I really enjoyed Vince Vaughn last episode. He was great at it. His scene with Colin Farell, his dialogues, his acting, his delivery, Mexican standoff with Mexicans and then
"What you have inside is gold. Pure solid gold. You are gold."
Who the f writes this shit
And wow maybe they should have developed this father of year Stan a bit more? "who the *bleep* is Stan" was trending after episode 2 and now it's made it's grand return.

Re: True Detective || HBO
^So it wasn't just me
I think Stan was one of the 2 guys Frank had pull that one guy out of traffic in ep 1 or 2 and beat him up.
It's weird that he was killed just like Caspere, that just makes things more confusing. Copy cat or same guy and he knew/saw something he shouldn't have? Seems like there's more to it than just killed by the same killer. The Widow said Blake was there asking questions...
Also Stan died like 4 episodes ago which is at least a couple months I think. Frank went there for a reason and it wasn't to mourn him.

"Do not be arguing, bitch. Yeah!"
I'm gonna try to use these TD gems more often.
Anyways, I sort of wished that I had waited a couple of months to watch the whole thing at once. When it comes to tv shows, I'm awful with names.

Re: True Detective || HBO
Yes Frank was the central character of this episode imo, he was great.
This TD has so many charachters that it doesn't rotate just around one-two as it was TD1 , so it can happen Woodrough was the central character 2 episodes ago , now Frank etc
Anyway I don't get who rates Frank as a scrub character , I think he is definitely good
Frank Semyon: You don't direct me, Khe Sanh *bleep*.
Ernst Bodine: I'm Chinese.
Frank Semyon: Then, go stand in front of a *bleep*' tank
( his quote in 5th episode lmao )
Anyway my favourite scene is still that on 1st episode also because that song is still in my ears

Re: True Detective || HBO
I keep thinking about the last ep, specifically the Frank/Stans family scene.
- Spoiler:
Theory on Stan and Frank:
Right before the scene where Frank visits Stan's family, is the kitchen scene with Ray. Stan is the one who tipped off Frank about Ray's rapist. Frank legitimately thought it was good information at the time. However, say Stan just wanted somebody gone. Whoever the guy that Ray killed(maybe I missed it but I don't think there's any info at all on this guy) was important or had connections that were important.
Somehow it got back to Stan and he was killed in a way that would make it look similar to Caspere. I've been trying to fit in the bartender still and while she could be absolutely nothing, it could also explain the interest she has in Ray. GF/sister.
I don't know what interest Blake had but the wife mentions to Frank he was there right after the murder asking questions. I feel like he knows why, maybe he even slipped the name to Stan first.
Blake is a huge wildcard. He is involved or linked to, just about everything in this season. He's even got reddish hair

The rapist had black hair. When Ray looks at the picture of the guy he killed on the flashback in episode 1 he said something like "thin, black hair, he fits the profile"

Damn so much sh t happened that episode...
so the assistant is the girl, the set photographer that she was seen talking to was the boy?

Wish the show was this quality for the entirety of the season. Knew Paul was going to die, as soon as he walked in there. Went out fighting at least. I see both Ani and Ray surviving but Frank dying.

Agree on Frank, I hope I'm wrong though
Re: True Detective || HBO
saw some theories that Ray will end up in prison for everything that's gone down, (although tbh I couldn't imagine him not being killed before he gets there by people trying to keep him quiet) and we'll see him staring down the guy who raped his ex. Can see that tbh, with Frank dying and Annie being the closest thing to a happy ending.

Re: True Detective || HBO
ffs I felt Woodrough was going to die . Shame, he was a great character . he will not get to watch his son.
It was really hard to get saved even this time so I felt it could happen , he got a miracle already in that insane shootout with Velocoro and Ann .. . He'd done if Burris didn't come out of hiding , probably it was his first he forgot to check behind that nondescript door . The first. The last.
Logical destiny for a man used to fight against everything , a real "god-warrior" hard to defeat until the end , an anguished life , everything went against him even if he did nothing for it, as the woman to accuse him for having made sex ( probably the only man not interested to make him with her in Vinci ffs ) , even his former BF (?) was going to kill and he was indirectly responsible because he screwed over in it. The more he made better everything the more he got crap.
He updated the concept of unlucky man.
Great piece about Woodrugh here imo
Anyway ... well , Burris, the man to kill Woodrugh , is behind everything . Dmize was the first to fuelled doubt about him if I remind well.
he might be even the Caspere's killer imo .
He 's extremely involved as the Woodrugh' murder testifies.
Tbf I feel sure he is the same man who wore that bird mask who shot Velcoro twice with a shotgun at point blank range.
Burris acts, moves himself , always at same way .
Furtively behind door .
Spying. Or killing.
Well It was a GOAT episode, definitely the best episode of this serie , incredibly captivating for the whole hour , nothing to do with some past episodes. Strange to think we're talking about same series comparing episodes so different for intensity

- This post is all spoilers, okay? Ex out of this and go crush some rats in a basement instead if you haven't seen last night's episode of True Detective.
Aww, Paulie. What more can we even say? Things were going so well okay for you—you found those contracts, and they had signatures all over them; you were bringing a baby into the world and into a totally stable family situation; and you proved that you could make not brushing your hair work for you. But then you forgot to check behind that nondescript door from which you escaped out of the depths of Vinci and caught a couple bullets (pretty sure they're real bullets this time) from James Frain. Dude! You should've known! He always plays bad guys.
Though, I guess I can forgive you for letting your guard down and assuming you were safe after taking out four hired guns like you were playing Call of Duty on beginner.
Sad as I am to say this, Paul was always the most expendable "main" character on this season of True Detective, and I'm not just saying that because Taylor Kitsch struggled with the character at times. Ray and Ani are the true cruxes of the show—the closest we've come to McConaughey and Harrelson in season two—and Colin Farrell and Rachel McAdams are killing it too much to be killed off. It's total bullshit that they hooked up, and the fact that their emo macking cut through Paul's shootout and eventual murder was even lamer, as if Nic Pizzolatto was consciously trying to sneak in some undetected sexy time. But *bleep*, which is everything, aside, those two are the show's dramatic centers. As for Frank, Nic Pizzolatto is probably the only one interested in seeing his story play out, but either way he's clearly destined for bigger things as we approach next week's finale—maybe a Scarface, blaze of glory kinda deal?
But beyond being expendable, Paul was also season two's most tragic character. Everything in his life, which was more or less terrible, was poured down upon him. His *bleep* up dancer of a mother—the one who almost made Paul a "scrape job"—beat out whatever personality he had, pushed him so far into the closet and then stole all the money he hid there. A celebrity accused him of trying to solicit sex on the PCH. He was a killing machine who clearly never wanted any part in killing, but resorted to being a warrior because that's the only thing the world wanted from him. He never asked for anything that came his way, yet all he wanted to do was wade through the shit and be a normal, good man.
Paul's Iraq War gay lover—yet another person who screwed Paul over—told him before the shootout, "Just be honest about who you are and no one would be able to run you." But that really isn't true. Paul was always *bleep*, regardless of how out he was. The saddest thing about all this may be that he died a totally repressed man. He took two bullets in the back, and the life went out of him without anyone knowing who he truly was.

Re: True Detective || HBO
^ good write up on Paul
Tragic character for sure. While there was more than one reason, that b*tch actress is definitely one of the reasons he became expendable.
Saw a screenshot on twitter of one of the early episodes where Dixon tells Ray "if anything happens to me, you burn my shit". Ray really should've taken that seriously. The photos he took likely wouldn't have been recovered. Then also there's the point his bf made, that it wouldn't have been an issue really if he was just true to himself, who he really was.
Anyway if Burris goes down I hope it's Ray that takes him out

Re: True Detective || HBO
This is a great recap, recommend it to everyone. Finally I know what the hell is actually happening.
http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2015/08/03/true_detective_season_two_a_guide_to_the_plot_of_this_confusing_season.html
I don't think even binging like elitedam said would help you remember all these minor (who are actually major to the plot) character's names. For the longest time I thought Blake was the Ethan Hawke half anaconda half great white shark guy until I saw the real Blake (tall guy looks like a creep) on the party and found out last episode that Ethan Hawke's name is Nails. Had no idea that the 70s disco cop (Holloway) is Chief of Police.
So it looks like the ones who killed Caspere are probably the siblings who were orphaned in the jewelry store robbery. Caspere's assistant and her probable brother the photographer in the movie set (who probably was the one in the bird costume who shot Velcoro in episode 2).
