Players hold all the power, if that's what Gundogan wants then that's what he'll get. If it means going in January instead of this summer then that's what will happen.

Udinese were offered more money for Sanchez but he wanted Barca and same goes with Fabregas but Arsenal were forced to accept a lower bid because of the players wish.

Many other examples too with other clubs, if Gundogan wants that then he'll get it. Lewandowski is another example, Dortmund tried to sell him to other clubs but the player refused to do business with anyone but Bayern so they were forced to lose him on a free.
