So the whole thong with chelsea was they weren't found not guilty they just coughed out money to push it under the rug.

If barca did it with 10 players, wouldnt this just make it much much harder for them to sweep it under the rug?

In short; yes.

Although given that the crux of Lens' argument was that Chelsea coaxed Kakuta into breaking a legally binding agreement (his pre contract) which turned out to have no legal weight or binding capacity, it really didnt look like Lens had a leg to stand on. That of course doesnt excuse Chelaea of ethical misconduct, but thats not the issue at hand here

Mole ,i think its 2 transfer periods as opposed to 2 years(which would make it 4 transfer periods then).

At worst it'll get reduced to one transfer period on appeal imo.

About FCB. Sanction is for two consecutive transfer windows (Jan and summer 2015). Club plans 2 appeal. Chelsea did so in 2010 and similar sanction was lifted

Why would it be overturned?
Chelsea were cleared of any wrong doing.. Lens made a big deal of a non binding contract and Chelsea paid them off to get them out of the way. Happens all the time in transfer fees..you think Ronaldo would've cost 80m if they didn't piss off United?
This case is different. Barca have broke the rules in black and white and unless they can prove it's a team full of misunderstandings.. They will be punished.
All they can do is appeal and try to sign somebody before it's handed down.. I doubt it tho.
Which top player will join now?
If you were a top player you'd jwait till the ban is served.. How can anyone have a long term vision for the club if the next player they can sign is the season after next?

You are right, it was me who wrote two years. Apologies.

So they are banned from summer 2014 and winter 2015 transfer windows. That's one full season of no new players. I am pretty sure they can sell players right?

This is actually something that has raised eyebrows at the Barca section before, so I'm not entirely surprised about this. Here is the relevant rule:

I don't see how Messi's case is exempt from those three rules as well.

3. The conditions of this article shall also apply to any player who has
never previously been registered with a club and is not a national of

5. The Players’ Status Committee shall be competent to decide on

appropriate sanctions in the event of violations of this provision.

It's both buying and selling players btw... not just buying. Complete transfer ban. Nobody is allowed to do business with Barca for the next 2 periods.

And the Chelsea ban was overturned because the legal basis for it was proven wrong. The pre-contract between Chelsea and the player was not a legally binding contract. So the ban on Chelsea was deemed illegal and, thus, overturned since there was no legal contract to sanction. Lens was going to file a civil lawsuit and the civil case was settled between Chelsea and Lens... the monetary settlement had nothing to do with FIFA or UEFA.

Apples and oranges.

Barca would have to prove that the legal basis for the ban is incorrect to get it overturned. Since it involves more than 10 players, i highly doubt that's possible.

If barca appeal it will be heard before the transfer window opens.
If not, you don't spend 120m on players in a short period of time lol. Players would rape you in wages and the clubs would sit back and let you desperately up the asking price
