Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
I wouldn't mind Kolo or Jones staying another season to be honest... Kolo still has something to offer the side and if Jones staying means we have an extra £10m to put toward a CF rather than a (almost certainly) 2nd choice goalkeeper that seems a worthwhile tradeoff for now.

Some fantastic work done by Ayre and the committee. Mightily impressed even though I was throwing a hissy fit at the beginning of the window

@canadian:
He mostly played Bergkamp's position.
He was never a striker lmao. He played off JKH and El Egyptian.
And he never was a winger. He had ultimate freedom in the final third where he found alot of space on the right hand side cutting in. An inside forward yea. But that wasn't his main position for them.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
If Jones gets an extension I'm cool with that, but only because signing a GK would be a low priority anyway; Mignolet hasn't always been great, but I think he's showed he's good enough and who's your number two GK doesn't matter that much - as long as the first choice remains fit... Although the fact we're allegedly opening talks with Jones only now kind of has this disappointing feeling of "well, we didn't know what else to do".
But Toure getting an extension would be the stupidest thing when we've got a truck load of young CBs each of them with a solid case for being our 4th choice CB. It would make signing all these young players totally pointless if in the end we just extend a 34-year-old fringe player's contract.

Kolo Jones
Right Fahim, we are off to a flyer. Just offer an improved contract to Lovren and we are all set.

Are we settling with mediocrity or are we not making enough efforts to remove it?
That said, Kolo Toure has no place in this team.

Jones should stay.
Kolo should leave with Lovren.
Sign new CB (Garay? Howedes?) to compete with Sakho/Skrtel and use Coates / Ilori as the 4th.

Milner will potentially reject us as he apparently wants CL football.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
That article about Milner most likely suggests that we atleast need Europa League to attract him. At least finish the sentence mate

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
I will be so angry if Jones, Kolo and Johnson (along with other deadwoods) are kept. More than bringing in fresh (and better) quality, we need to loose the deadwoods. If we can't attract new players, give the kids a chance. They can't do any worse.
Another thing. How do you guys feel about Milner??? Will he have the hunger!!! Besides, players like Ibe, Lallana and Markovic hasn't played much this season and they look (in my view) more potent.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Not really interested in Milner.
Why do you talk about something over and over you are so clearly wrong about and making up? I actually don't get this one. Even a short search on the internet can easily disprove what you're saying. The more you say it the dumber you look (and it doesn't make it anymore true).
He played from the wing and at striker at Ajax you clown. Like I said actually start watching Ajax or the Eredivisie.

I don't need to do a short search on the internet. I don't need to do any search on the internet. I've watched Ajax from 2008-2014. lmao
Why would I watch them now? He plays for Barcelona ffs.
You continue reading reports off the internet. Maybe that's why you're so adamant Rodgers would work. Maybe that's why you were so adamant Suarez wasn't the system last year.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
I've been watching Ajax with my grandfather since the mid 90s and most of my football discussions are on Netherlands specific boards...you have no idea what you're talking about. The point was I was giving you info so that I didn't have to qualify with anecdote. You're either making up that you ever watched the Eredivisie (most likely, your 'timeline' is quite convenient) or you don't know what you were watching. In either case you continuing to claim your FM fantasies as reality doesn't make it any more true.
Suarez was never a 10, he spent almost a third of his time at striker and he played the wing. That's reality. Anyway I won't carry on with this particular discussion as anyone that watched them or actually follows the Eredivisie knows better, but I figured I should clarify in case people believed your nonsense.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
The 68-year-old was asked by host Claire Balding if he could have managed any club. “I’d have liked to have managed Liverpool,” said Redknapp.
“It’s a fantastic atmosphere, when that crowd before the game, when they sing, and the atmosphere, ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.
“I just think it’s an incredible place and a great football club.”
Finally some positive news...next season with Harry

To hell with those players who listen to their partners when making decisions about their multi-million euro careers.

Liverpool Echo wrote:Liverpool have received a significant boost in their £20m pursuit of Memphis Depay. Depay's been given permission to hold talks with clubs willing to pay £20m for his services and LFC have made an offer. Playing in the Champions League isn't a deal breaker for Depay who instead wants to find a club where he's able to develop.
