Re: Transfer Rumours V6
I wanted to say similar to be honest. I think its premature to talk so boldly that this is a waste of money and that he isnt that good and we are buying a "overhyped Brazilian"...give the boy a chance , wait and see and then make your opinion.

Better than buying injury prone ageing centerbacks for damn sure.

How about this injured player then?
From the General Section..
Gundogan to Barca,'done deal'..Bild reports
€12m gross salary per season compared to the €8m Bayern were offering.

Gundogan sounds like the best Xavi replacement, I guess, but I reckon there are still big question marks about him being back to his old self... Depends on how true is the rumour though

Spinal injuries are no joke. I'm not convinced. Pre-injury Gündogan not even a question.

Re: Transfer Rumours V6
I am a little confused..
i keep going through the forums of different websites and a lot of barca fans keep saying we want two midfielders.
in this case gundogan and pogba or that croatian kid from inter.. 2/3 of those players
why do we need two?
lets say one is to replace xavi.. and the other to be a substitute for iniesta.
we're essentially buying two players for the bench role? and not just small players but pogba or gundogan.
do we really need such big names after the display rakitic has shown us? also are we giving up on rafinha?

Thats a fabrication. Nothing of that sort on BILD. As per DerWesten, a regional source close to BVB, ManU's the most probable destination of Ilkay. And I honestly think thats where he'd headed to.
There are question marks over his fitness for sure, but I'd still consider it a low risk signing given his potential transfer fee. I certainly prefer him over someone like Pjanic, who's not barca quality, and yet remains a fav amongst some culés.
But he's off to ManU anyways.
I'm kinda ambivalent about the Pogba signing. Haven't seen enough of the player to give a definitive opinion. All I know is that the reported fee is a huge turn off.

Kova is allot on the bench anyway, and Pogba would likely bench or rotate with Iniesta/Rakitic and possibly even Busquets when he needs rest. More importantly would bring some youth and quality to our aging midfield. Rafinha...I'm honestly still up in the air with this guy, has lots of talent but I'm not so sure if the way we play really brings out the best in him. But hopefully his best is yet to come as I still think he has tons of potential. Sergi will must sell...

Re: Transfer Rumours V6
I can perhaps see why we want 2 midfielders.
When Xavi gone, he miss a player with a calming influence over the game. Someone who isnt positionally all over the place, can put his foot on the ball and has that "pause", someone who just does the simple things well. Rafinha isnt that kind of player, Gundogan kinda is. He has alot of those things. Looking at him though, I think he could stand to loose a couple pounds still. For his frame plus a back injury he does look slightly bigger than you'd expect to me.
The second midfielder is a different kind of player. Rakitic is getting through alot of running and general working, closing down the right flank, covering across to the middle and getting back in defensive transitions. I would have thought Rafinha capable of similar work but Pogba obviously is a marquee name. More of a flashy player (not meant as a negative) than a hard runner true, but I would much rather him play this role than having the responsibility of the true midfield role. He loses too many balls for that at this stage of his career.

Re: Transfer Rumours V6
Gundogan for a low transfer fee is a risk worth taking although the mentioned wages are a bit high.
Any case,we need a quality midfielder with Xavi gone and Gundogan if he can regain his form is one.

Madrid going in hard to Verratti seems. Supposedly the amount is 50-60M if they get him for that much and we pay 100M for Pogba someones going to get slapped.

Pfft. No way Nasser lets his boy Verratti go for 50-60M. He's much better than Pogba and PSG have no reason to sell him.

I very much doubt the club that bought David Luiz for 50M is gonna sell Verratti for around the same price.

Why not? The common denominator would be that they are stupid

Re: Transfer Rumours V6
Hmm for a cash deal i very much doubt PSG will ever sell Verrati
but now thinking about it.
if they do a eto + money for ibra like deal then i see it very possible
benzema + 40m for verrati and i see them going for that.. considering they can't spend much with the transfer limit ffp placed

Doubt he goes to Madrid. If he is for sale at all we should be in for him and offer him more.
I'd rather have him than Pogba tbh, if we can't get Thiago back. I'm still willing to splash money on Thiago, too.

Lots of reports saying Alves hs agreed to join Utd
I only hate 3 clubs, Madrid-Chelsea-Utd. And seeing Alves at one of those 3 annoys me.

Thiago should never return, just out of principle. You don't leave when the club is at its absolute low point to a treble team and then come back once Barca is at the top again and Bayern is declining.
