Thiago should never return, just out of principle. You don't leave when the club is at its absolute low point to a treble team and then come back once Barca is at the top again and Bayern is declining.

Yea I have to agree, I would of loved Thiago to stay but out of principle i wouldn't bring him back either. He practically said he didn't care if he was a Barca player or not. That guy doesn't love our badge, and said it out loud right after Tito had got sick again and we had that terrible season....and joined the club that humiliated us. Fantastic player but if I were on the board I would look for other options.

Tbh I'm kind of excited about this transfer. Been very impressed with him and think he will fit right in. He's Catalan as well.

Don't think it's 10m only though. Probably Denis Suarez is included in the deal ... could be a bargain regardless

We could have easily kept both if we had desired to. Vidal can't play until January 2016. Alves could make the most of this time. Even after that Vidal may need time to settle in and Alves would likely still have played the key games. Alves could have stayed for 2016-17 as well and played as backup to Vidal provided Vidal had been able to live up to expectations. Letting Alves go right now is not making sense to me.

I read one or more articles on the internet today and from that it seems to me that the strategy of the club will be to book players for registering in January 2016 either by bringing them immediately for training etc. or letting them play with their current club till the end of the year.

With Xavi leaving and Dani Alves also likely leaving the first half of 2015-16 seems very difficult. The only good thing is that the business end of the season wouldn't have started. If we can be in the races till the end of this year and have the right players registered for January 2016 we should still be able to challenge for major honors next season. It's going to be tough though. There are rumors that other players who haven't gotten enough game time this season such as Pedro could also leave which would make things even more difficult.

What about players returning from loan? Would it be a good idea to keep players like Song and Tello given that the squad will be depleted? I understand Denis Suarez is not to return until 2016. What's the case with Delofeu? When will he return and will he get along with Enrique? Or should we instead rely on Sandro and Mounir? I also read today that Sergi Samper is expected to be drafted in next season as Busquets' understudy.

Maybe we can create a squad thread to discuss these things in more detail.

Well the isssue too is that Vidal will be cup tied for the UCL. So if Alves leaves, we would be stuck with Montoya and Douglas in UCL. If Alves stay, starting in January we can transition Vidal in the league games and use Alves for the UCL games, which would be perfect but it this depends on if Alves stays

Apparently Ilkay has declined our financial offer. I'm livid. I mean there are players willing/should be willing to reduce their wage demands to play for the best club in the world. Playing alongside the GOAT of this gen. itself is a big incentive, and here there's a player who's not been much of a factor the last two seasons and he's refusing us for monetary reasons. The ManU offer must be too tempting for his fat belly. His loss, whatever.

Now I hope Fartomeu doesn't get too desperate to cede to Pogba's demands.

I think this proves once in for all that he doesn't have a future at the club. I hope he goes somewhere he can get regular minutes, improve, and be valued. Same for Sergio Roberto.

Apparently he asked for 12m € per year, which would make him top earner at Bayern and we wouldn't offer that much.

Problem is, with the current exchange rate, 12m € per year is barely 170k £ per week, which I guess is well below what Manchester United like to throw around for their countless 'marquee signings'.
So I guess that's where he's headed.

Which means 12m when it's reported in Germany. We were prepared to offer something like 4,5-5/9-10.
Guess that would be what we'd be willing to pay Gündogan too.

Ahh, that was meant to be gross. € 6M net seems "normal". Barca average wage bill is rumoured to be € 7.5M net. Then I'm confused.
