It's incredible how almost all of his league goals have been Napoli's first and/or 2nd goals. He can keep this up and help Napoli win Scudetto if Juventus slip somewhere.

We have a tougher schedule left, if he can keep it up then it's very possible that napoli take it. He needs to get back to pre-february form though

To be fair this 1st or 2nd goal thing doesn't mean anything in serie a. Teams (Napoli included) don't score more than 2 goals often enough for the stats to be impacted with "unimportant" goals. That's more of just a Madrid/Barca luxury problem.

People saying how unlucky he is that Juve are this consistent.

Don't recall people saying the same about Milan when Juve were unbeaten, Roma last year or Napoli the year before when Cavani scored 29 in 34 games.

Yeah, I just wanted to point out that Napoli is not a scrub team. Higuain is well supported at every line and plays with 2 wingers (NOT wide forwards). He is the best player in serie a this season and one if the best CFs in the world. But he is not pulling the team by himself. Cavani did it with worst players and a worse coach. There was some thread comparing him to Maradona, it gets out of hand.

Would Icardi do as well as Higuain in his position? I really think so. It is a team where a good finisher would absolutely shine.

In the end if he is to be a Napoli legend he has to win the league (or stick around performing for years).

Icardi? he is a poacher, he creates nothing and has a terrible work ethic (at least compared to Pipita that spends significant periods pushing the line). Higuain is a far more complete player, he is not simply a finisher.

Also not sure if you have looked at Napoli's back line or GK, I'd say that was better at Cavani's time.

Hamsik and Lavezzi were also in terrific form and supported Cavani very well .

No chance about the backline. Koulibaly, Ghoulam and Hysaj are very very good. Reina is no worse than De Sanctis either. Plus Sarri's system gives them all the more protection while still generating attacking moves. Jorginho relieving the pressure and Allan running around does wonders for that defense.

Mazzari defended by just packing the defense. Paolo Cannavaro was never outstanding (although solid). Campagnaro was good. The rest were average. They went 3-4-------------3 (Inler and Behrami are both fairly defensive) so Lavezzi, Hamsik and Cavani countered with very little support upfront. Top counters, but not as proactive as Sarri's.

Anyway, Higuain has been great don't get me wrong. He is definitely not just a poacher, he does everything right this season. But Icardi is/will be a great CF, he scores with basically no service. He had 2 touches in the box last game (against Palermo) and it was a goal and an assist. he is legit. Its scary what he would do with constant service (like Insigne, Hamsk, Allan around).

Agreed with Rincon, only Campagnaro was the good CB, the other 2 (Cannavaro and Aronica/Britos ) not so much

Midfield of Inler and Gargano/Behrami was disgusting compared to now.

I love how Napoli players are suddenly good when Higuain is doing well. The team worse with Cavani what am i hearing
