Betty La Fea wrote:Its a sound investment. Milan clubs may be terrible now, but their name still carries worldwide. You get some super investors willing to put in cash to spend big, and you have an easy moneymaker.
I see the movement being in one direction though. Foreign players will come to China, but it won't happen the other way. While the Italian and Chinese leagues are probably similar in quality now, you don't see Chinese players who could easily play in a France or Germany(such as 武磊) not making the move. I think there is an emphasis in their players to stay in China and build up their league.
Since the Serie A and EPL coefficients are about the same, does that mean the EPL and China are roughly equal?

Yeah,it'd be certainly interesting to see how they combat FFP.
Maybe Jiangsu Suning buys players and loan them to Inter.Thats probably one easy way to do it.
Same as PSG. The tourist board or some other state entity of China signs a huge, way out of proportion, sponsorship deal. UEFA let the Qatar tourist board do it so they can't do anything if the Chinese do something similar.

Inter would not be the same without the Pirelli logo

Do Italian clubs do market signings? Like with Manchester United they brought in Kagawa strictly to sell shirts in Japan. Even when proven he could play they didnt really want to use him, but damn it if you didnt watch TBS and see him grinning in a clean red shirt.A clear PR move.
Would an Italian club do that? I imagine the Chinese market being huge, and they actually support not ridicule their players unlike tv in japan.

The Chinese entity would not want or need a great space on the jersey and they will want to keep the Pirelli logo. Or, they might just buy Pirelli. LOL

Nah Pirelli would probably not be renewed whenever the contract ends. I imagine the new owners have plans for their brands. Just like the Agnelli's putting Jeep on Juventus to market their new brand.

I had to look up his numbers for Milan, and 8 goals out of 72 appearances is simply horrific. Even more horrific are his stats for this season. How does an attacking midfielder only have 1 goal and 3 assists out of 30 games played? Those are Willian level bad numbers(in fact worse) He was very very good for Nagoya, and he is very very very good for the national team. Something is wrong in Milan.
I feel shame for him.

We are Internazionale and we've the Chinese property too now ... I can't wait to play at Mao Zedong Arena
It happened suddenly , and unexpected. There were rumours about 20/30 % not more ... nothing to do with Milan events
Well , I was disappointed from Thohir experience and we're cagged from FFP till 2019 so we've action limits ... anyway it means we'll do everything to get revenues under Suning

Re: Chinese investing in Serie A
Suning has officially acquired Inter
SUNING HOLDINGS GROUP ACQUIRES MAJORITY STAKE OF F.C. INTERNAZIONALE MILANO
Inter and Suning announce the signing of a strategic partnership
NANJING - F.C. Internazionale Milano (Inter Milan) and Suning Holdings Group today announce the signing of a strategic partnership. Suning Holdings Group will acquire a majority stake in Inter Milan, one of Europe’s leading football clubs since its founding in 1908.
International Sports Capital will become the sole minority shareholder in the Club and Erick Thohir retains his position as President of Inter.
Internazionale Holding will cease to be a shareholder and former President, Massimo Moratti, will exit the Club after many years of success winning prestigious silverware including the “Triplete” in 2010.
Inter President, Erick Thohir, commenting on the acquisition, said: “This new partnership with Suning Holdings Group is a game changer for Inter Milan. Over the past two and a half years we have been building on the existing solid base at the Club and this new partnership will enable us to take the next step in the project and return Inter Milan to its rightful place in world club football.
“The popularity of the game, particularly in Asia and China, is going through a period of massive growth. This agreement with Suning Holdings Group will allow us to get much closer to our huge fan base in China and the Asia Pacific region. We are looking forward to a hugely successful partnership together.”
Suning Holdings Group will continue to support the global business strategy of Erick Thohir and his senior management team in order to make Inter Milan even stronger and more competitive, both on and off the pitch, by investing in the core business and expanding the brand’s geographic reach, notably in China and Asia. The partnership represents a ground breaking level of investment in Italian football and will allow Inter Milan to re-establish itself among the top ten clubs in football targeting consistent qualification for European Club competitions. Chairman of Suning Holdings Group, Mr Zhang Jindong, said: “The acquisition of Inter Milan is part of Suning’s strategy in the development of the sports industry and driving our campaign in the health and lifestyle consumer market. This will not only improve Jiangsu Suning F.C.’s technical set-up and operational capabilities, but will also help Suning to grow internationally, enabling us to become a household brand name in Europe and across the world.”
With regards to the future development of Inter Milan, Mr Zhang stated: “This is an unprecedented opportunity for Inter Milan to grow further in China, and China will become the second home of Inter Milan. In addition, Suning’s capital investment and abundant resources will enable Inter Milan to return to its glory days and become a stronger property able to attract top stars from across the globe."
Inter Milan boasts one of the richest palmares among European Clubs and ranks as one of the top ten global brand names in football. Suning Holdings Group, in connection with their e-commerce group Suning.com, will help provide access to the 130 million Inter Milan followers in China and has expertise in developing platforms to engage directly with the Club’s fans across the world. The combination of Suning Holdings Group and Inter Milan will lead to the development of strategic initiatives and new levels of excellence.
Inter Milan was founded on the principle of “Brothers of the World”. This new partnership continues in this long tradition of the Club.
About Suning Holdings Group

Rooted in its entrepreneurial spirit, and through decades of expansion and transformation, Suning now ranks among the top three Chinese non-state owned enterprises with close to $50 billion in annual sales. Re: Chinese investing in Serie A
I don't feel myself inferior strategically than Juventus anymore.
If you go with tanks at Juve Stadium , you never lose.
Jokes aside, they're ambitious, they are rich ( showed already in China, they're the men to have spent 50 for Texeira ) , so nothing to do with Thohir about it.
on paper , it was the type of property Inter needed to rise again.
Unfortunately a regime reigns on football and it's the FFP.
It is the the only thing risks to block us .
Platini convincted for 8 years is just a partial consolation for what it is going to happen to some clubs ( included us ) because of him.
I fear the frustrating / paradoxical situation where you want to spend, but you can't spend.
*bleep* UEFA .
*bleep* FFP .
Against Modern Football .

If there is money, you can get around FFP. Just get companies you have relationships with to buy sponsorships at unreal prices. This company has many suppliers that want to sell, sell to them (Suning).

You should just sue UEFA. That's how PSG and CIty got around FFP. It's blatantly ilegal.

Either that or sell your youth teams janitors office naming rights for £500,000,000. FFP is trash.

Re: Chinese investing in Serie A
As I said, if the money is there, FFP can be thwarted. Suning can have their suppliers pay 100s of millions for signs in Chinese at the stadium during Inter games. Inter was the most popular team in China for many years. Even today it is still one of the most followed there. This acquisition came at just the right time, before an EPL or Spanish team leapfrogged way over them in popularity. Now, Inter will regain its top place in China and will have money to compete with EPL or Liga clubs in Europe. Who cares if it is no longer Italian owned. How many EPL clubs are English owned?

Jiangsu Suning could be readying an offer to send to Inter over Felipe Melo La Repubblica suggest. A bid of 12m could be made to secure the midfielder and bring him to China. This money would provide a big gain towards Inter budget and help FFP.

Honestly if Inter get Candreva as well and hold onto all their key players i think inter won't even need to buy anyone else to secure top 3... a midfield of broz banega and kondog with candreva icardi/jovetic and perisic with that defence you are laughing and it's also a very young side

Silvio Berlusconi got admitted to a hospital after his heart underwent critical condition
Sky claims that Silvio may ultimately decide to not sell the club
This is some movie cliche right there, i mean i hope he gets better, but this epiphany

I wouldn't want to be a Milan fan right now.. If the club is not taken into foreign hands I can see Milan falling gracefully even further.... Honestly they would not be in much of a better place then Juve was when we got relegated at least we could still keep onto a lot of our top players and had plans for a new stadium
