Agreed

Rumours report the coup is failed.
Because the ppl is going against the coup and the coupists refuse to fire on the crowd ..... so accepting the democratic verdict .... The coupists.

While the loyalists under Erdogan , would have even shot on that conflicting crowd .. so as to get defend the democracy.

In all honestly a democratic country should never have a military who takes it upon them to determine what's right or wrong in society. Imho only option to get rid of Erdogan is by means of the ballot not by force. I'm happy seeing the coup fail. It means justice prevailed.

It seems this coup will fail though we still don't really know enough about this.
However the whole coup seems so strange. How could they do a coup with Erdogan in complete safety? Did they arrest any important people? PM was talking on TV, Erdogan was able to talk on TV, people from the parliament.. all parties condemn the thing?

What the f were they actually doing the whole time?

I'm not defending Erdogan, what i'm defending is a muslim majority country who is secular and democratic no matter how we spin it, Turkey is a democracy and a secular state. Only way to get rid of him should be determined by the people of Turkey casting their vote and throwing him ou. Let me put it this way; If Trump won and becomes a bigger warmonger the GWB I will still be against a coup in democratic country.

Many are speculating this was staged. Would be strange either way. Either it wasn't and it failed horribly or it was and Erdogan got what he wanted.

Wouldn't be the first time. 100 years ago Enver forced the PM to resign in the middle of the First Balkan War with only 10 people and the only casualties were 4 guards.

This was such a amateur attempt at coup, i'm beginning to think it was staged by Erdogan and his cronies to gain more support.

First rule of coup: always go after the leader first and shut him up, the coup was bound to fail the moment Erdogan asked people to go to the streets.

If Erdogan is a bad guy why are the people ready to lie in front of tanks for him/democracy when the military stated that they only planned to overthrow him and continue democratic rule and why did only 20 people attempt a coup?
