The delusional thing was more about riling up some fanbases  Every fan, by definition, is deluded about their team.  Some more than others... but it's just part of being a fan.  There are varying degrees of course.  But, IMO, fans of the top historical teams tend to be the most deluded... hence, Bayern, Liverpool, Madrid and Juve fans are out of their minds  Milan fans used to be that way but Berlu's management completely humbled them lol.

It is safe to assume that a significant number of native English speakers as well as native Germans and Spaniards from around the world can attest to the fact that Juventus FC is a favourite to win the Champions League trophy this coming year.

IMO RM fans are the most delusional fans especially the online ones, who just think romanticizing and exaggerating=solid opinion.

how many posts have I seen over the years, just last season alone was the usual, selling off the whole squad of WC players and replace them with a bunch unproven youngsters, because they love the club more, that easily one of the most stupidest and deluded statements, that seems to be the norm for some reason.

Benzema didn't exactly help himself with that blackmail and extortion affair though to be fair.

I probably should have worded it better because I said "always CL contenders" but before 5 years ago they were shite and still on the recovery trek--obviously they weren't at that time. I'm referring to more recent adventures. The season they finished in the group stage aside, all of those seasons I would have considered them contenders for the CL. Being eliminated early by Heynckes Bayern and then Pep's Bayern after extra time is a bit unfortunate. You could argue that if they were contenders they should have gotten past those teams, and that's fair to some degree, but Juventus I think haven't had the same fortune of say, Madrid in meeting the likes of City, Wolfsburg etc on route to a CL final. You could say Borussia Dortmund and Monaco (...and then your own Madrid) was fortuitous and they did make the final that year.

On a talent level they are always contenders. Results wise it could be better, and I agree there, and I see your point. However, on a talent level Juventus have been contenders the last 5 years.

And that's my argument there--if Juventus has absolutely walked their league, taken their own domestic cup the last two seasons as well, and has the talent to win the CL...where exactly is the delusion?

If Juventus fans were walking around talking themselves up as the greatest team in Europe and European champions I might say there is a lot of delusion there, but unfortunately all I see them do is talk about how they'll win Serie Zzz again and probably contend for the CL. I might be wrong, but I don't see anything delusional about that. Have you seen Juve's squad? They're certainly a threat for the CL.

If they don't do well in the CL this year I'll laugh along with everyone else, but it's not because I see any inherent delusion.

They are, but it's ok.

That is just perfect. But aint you missing us United fans in there ?! A vast majority of our fans are 1st rate Ahols. Will feel kinda incomplete if you let those bleeps get off the hook.
