Besides. Snowden confirmed everyone was getting spied on by the NSA. Which all goes back to post 9/11 surveillance politics.

Doubt there was a targeted tap of Trump.

how long would it take to A. check the calls of over 300 million people and B. know if its the government that your tapping. they knew what they were doing ffs. had they recorded something bad they could leak it and that's the end of trump. but he knew what they were up to from the start. Wink

the USA has the capabilities to tap anyone in the world but that don't mean everyone is being tapped at the same time. it would be to much data to get trough. if you think they didn't know it was trump they were listening to then your crazy. you think they have the ability to tap the world but don't know who they are tapping. if that were true it would be pointless tapping anyone if you didn't know who they are. they were looking for dirt on trump and got cought so they said they never meant to do it.

Is this the basis for the talk about immunity - "No reasonable person, who has the benefit of advice from counsel, would submit to questioning in such a highly politicized, witch-hunt environment without assurances against unfair prosecution," he said.

So I take it you and all the journalists promulgating this think immunity means an exemption from being prosecuted wrongly by a corrupt court?

This thing so far is based on inferences made about what his lawyer meant. Doesn't seem like good journalism to me, to present your inferences as facts. I guess they are hoping he is guilty of something.

The U.S. military launched approximately 50 cruise missiles at a Syrian military airfield late on Thursday, in the first direct American assault on the government of President Bashar al-Assad since that country’s civil war began six years ago.

The operation, which the Trump administration authorized in retaliation for a chemical attack killing scores of civilians this week, dramatically expands U.S. military involvement in Syria and exposes the United States to heightened risk of direct confrontation with Russia and Iran, both backing Assad in his attempt to crush his opposition.

President Trump said the strike was in the “vital national security interest” of the United States and called on “all civilized nations to join us in seeking to end the slaughter and bloodshed in Syria. And also to end terrorism of all kinds and all types.”

“We ask for God’s wisdom as we face the challenge of our very troubled world,” he continued. “We pray for the lives of the wounded and for the souls of those who have passed and we hope that as long as America stands for justice then peace and harmony will in the end prevail.”

The missiles were launched from two Navy destroyers — the USS Ross and USS Porter — in the eastern Mediterranean. They struck an airbase called Shayrat in Homs province, which is the site from which the planes that conducted the chemical attack in Idlib are believed to have originated. The targets included the runway as well as aircraft, hangars and fuel.

Let's be clear here.

Russia was informed because there was Russian military at the base that was going to be bombed. You're not looking to start a war with Russia.

Second, the US had aircraft radars and satellites focused on that base before telling the Russians. If any Syrian personnel or materials were to be moved after telling the Russians... the US would have attacked the assets being moved. So it's not like Russia could do anything to help the Syrians on that base.

Third, read Rex Tillerson's statements post attack. Wow. Who would have thought under Donald Trump. He goes where the wind blows lol.

Assad is a scum and not a solution in Syria, but i don't think he used chemical weapons. He had nothing to gain, much more to lose. US policy under Trump was changing before the chem attack, removing Assad was not a priority anymore. Now things has shifted for the worse for him.

Then again with Iran and Russia on his side, you could argue that he has huge leverage. US intervention similar to 2013 will be limited.
