Maybe he's not worth that much to clubs that'd like to buy him but he's worth it to Dortmund. Personally I would demand even more.

Abuse being a subjective word here as I doubt the salary he is on is abusive to a lot of footballers. He also is on a team that, by and large, is pretty well supported.

Yeah it's not comparable at all.

Nonetheless, I'm not exactly excited either. The fee gets me, to be sure, but what gets me even more is spending this amount on a forward when the midfield needs as much help as it does. Eriksen or Pjanic or a midfielder of the type would have been available for slightly less I think. Or we could have gone all in for Pogba last summer instead. All would have been better options than this.

He'll be a quality player and tbh if he develops right he can be a real star but I still don't care for it. If he turns into bona fide superstar then I'll admit I'm in the wrong but it feels like we're ignoring our weakness here just to go for a big signing to appease fans/socios. Would have loved to see us fail just to see this board out as quickly as possible.

Get excited BC. He's the real deal and Barca was his dream club. A lot of things add up here for his success... especially since opponents can't send 2-3 guys his way with Messi and Suarez. He's deadly 1v1 or even 1v2. And he's a winger; not a scorer although he can score.

Its quite a terrible deal to swap Neymar for Dembele + 70m. Not that Barca really had a choice though.

Yeah, but Dembélé is an unbelievable player in his own right. The kid is *bleep* spectacular.

Not comparable to Neymar of course, since he's still very raw and his output isn't on Neymar's level yet.

But if you're going to lose Neymar, Dembélé is a great player to get.

Also, it's very probable Barca could have gotten him for about 10m-20m less if they hadn't instructed him to go on strike and leave BVB no choice but to stand firm with the demand

Yeah I'm not dissing Dembele's talent, its just that Neymar is something else. Dembele will have to adapt and grow and see if in a few seasons maybe he can reach the level that Neymar already guarantees.

Well, for now you'll have Sports doing what Banks did for Neymar in that Dembele can do no wrong and it is someone else's fault. Do enjoy that GL Barca fans and good luck.

Of course it does. We lost the 3rd best player in the world and so far replaced him with nobody. If Dembele does come, he's still unproven, raw and not even close to being comparable to the great talent that Neymar is. + We bought Paulinho, who will not strenghten us.
