Unfortunately I dont see how our financial situation allows us to sack him for a top manager this summer. Grrrr, I cant foresee anything but stagnation next season like the Valverde years, since we wont be making any big signings anyway. Hope Im wrong, come on Laporta, think of something Razz

the only thing Barca had to do was win the few remaining games regardless of their rival's results

Instead what happened was: LWDDL, 5/15 points

I don't see how Koeman could continue. This is utterly embarrassing.

I don't think i've despised a coach as much as this guy, and for what? The way he struts himself, its as if he won 4 consecutive CLs in a row.

And replaced him with:

Clown manager, the Dutch Arteta, only a matter of time before he gets sacked. Though with the current Barca management i don't think anything substantial will change Laughing

Candidates to replace Koeman:
- Pirlo
- Xavi
- Conte
- Ten Hag
- Bielsa

As of right now, the favorite is Pirlo. @gerardromero

Laughing Thats it from me. See you guys in 1,5 years when pirlo will be getting the sack, bye  Ronald Koeman Sack Watch - Page 5 270c

You'll never finish below 4th spot. These LaLiga teams are tough to beat on their day but over a season they won't have the consistency necessary to compete with the top 3/4. Sevilla have started this season poorly too. And Villarreal have a number of draws. Barca will be fine

1. What is he supposed to do with this squad and injuries?

2. Is there a better alternative right now?

3. He subbed off Busquets, played a kid, who then assisted the equalizer. What other manager will do that?

I say let Coman stay until the season ends. focus on finishing top 4. then sack him.

you bring a new manager not much is going to change with this squad.

Should have kept Valverde. Had Barca on top even though he was supposedly playing "bad football" despite winning titles.

Post by Myesyats Tue Sep 21, 2021 11:02 pm

First of all he should've been sacked in the summer after that horrendous finish in la liga last season. Absolutely bottled and gave away the trophy which was very much within reach

I already expressed that opinion earlier:
Myesyats wrote:the only thing Barca had to do was win the few remaining games regardless of their rival's results

2nd of all, he was always an awful choice for manager, his level is clearly Everton-ish and that is very much on display every single matchday. He has no plan A or B for that matter, if we are trailing he panics and literally puts Pique at CF. I'm pretty sure Luuk De Jong was his personal request aswell.

The sight of him instructing the team to spam crosses onto Pique and Luuk in the box is one for the history books. That alone is a sackable offense. 50+ crosses or so.

Sure he lets youngsters play, and that I applaud him for, but it cannot redeem all of his other flaws. He keeps bringing this up in interviews too, basically "what you want me to do? I play the youth, it's the best we can do with what we have" etc.

This excuse might have worked vs Bayern, but not against Granada. Be serious now. He is tactically inept and has no ideas whatsoever on how the team should play. He likes the 3-5-2 formation, very defensive. Laporta demands him to play 4-3-3 and more offensive. He has no idea how to do it. The players are disjointed and lost. He's a negative coach and will always be which is why he should've never been appointed in the first place (thanks Bartomeu, again)

There is no easier game than against Granada, really. They do not press, they're not well organized. We have the tools to beat them even with injuries and some youngsters. But we are too disorganized ourselves. The players are confused for sure, because so is Koeman. He cant manage big teams, period. Pretty much everyone was dumbfounded when Koeman was announced as Barca manager and rightly so. This is a horrible mismatch

At this point in time there are not many alternatives, that is true. But we're not moving forward with Koeman. The young players are not learning anything from him, tactics-wise. Because all he knows is very straight-forward football, get the ball wide and cross etc, very basic formula that any retard could apply, including Pirlo. There is zero nuance to how Koeman prepares his team. Its quite literally caveman ball.

Mid season is tricky. I'm sure Laporta won't rush things unless he has someone good available. Maybe Luis Enrique as an interim option. I personally think it should be Xavi. It has to be someone with a clear idea. Almost all amigos are gone. I'd give Xavi time to build and establish his style. He'd play the youth aswell, we cant really make signings but its not a bad time for the Xavi project to set off

3-5-2 can work i suppose:

         Garcia Pique Lenglet
alaba                                 Dest
           De Jong  Basquests
      Depay                   Coutinho
                     Aguero

Granted Aguero is available in October

But given that he bottled the league having Messi, Greizmann, and Dembele. Cant see him do any better than last year

Sacking Valverde only to appoint Setien was clearly pointless. Then sacking Setien to bring in Koeman was even worse.

I still would have sacked Valverde but only if we had somebody like Ten Hag loaded up and ready. Otherwise Id have kept him, yes.

Completely agree Koeman was not even supposed to start this season. it was evident in his last season performance that he is too low for a top team. You might get fooled because the squad also had other problems like aging players, underperforming talents and injuries. I thought sacking Koeman was the Laporta's first agenda.
Sacking Valverde made sense only if we wanted to do better than just winning league and Copa. But getting Setien and koeman!! I mean which other top team would have accepted such managers....

Of course all you glory hunting Barca kiddies are too young to remember just what a legend Koeman is for your club

the guy has more tiki taka and Cruyffian principles in his right little pinky toe than any of you could write up in 1000 message board posts or "tweets"

Oh so now you're suddenly Koeman's defense attorney?

Hapless_Hans wrote:First thread about the famous Ronald Koeman on this forum, and it is a deserved denunciation thread.

Poor, negative manager who is ruining Everton with his stubborn and narrow minded approach.

Instead you play a 9 men defense and then kick it towards Rooney who can run as fast you regular football professional walks?

What a loser.

Keeps getting better the drama, so he basically come out on his own and held a press conference for no reason except to ask (basically beg) ppl for patience? Wtf is that, does he even have any PR skills? Or is he doing it on purpose and trying to get fired? Its happened b4 with some managers of top clubs. I remmeber Real's manager back in 2008 I think it was Pep's first season or something, their manager conceded the title race and said it was Barca's year early in the season and got sacked straight away Very Happy
