Keeps getting better the drama, so he basically come out on his own and held a press conference for no reason except to ask (basically beg) ppl for patience? Wtf is that, does he even have any PR skills? Or is he doing it on purpose and trying to get fired? Its happened b4 with some managers of top clubs. I remmeber Real's manager back in 2008 I think it was Pep's first season or something, their manager conceded the title race and said it was Barca's year early in the season and got sacked straight away Very Happy

Don't think he's trying to get fired. This is his dream job and tbf he has been handed shit cards in both seasons. As a caretaker manager he's fine. Sure we could get someone better but no coach will turn us into a formidable team. Better to have someone thst knows the club, trusts the youth and is able to give some stability until we recover financially in the next season.

Koeman knows full well that firstly he wasn't Barca's first choice and secondly that he'd be replaced if Laporta could find someone else in the summer. The guy knows he wasn't wanted from the very first minute. Have any of the players come out in support of him? It's like nohody wants him. I for one wouldn't want to work for people that have more or less told me to my face that I am not wanted. He's probably creating a narrative that is to his favour for when he eventually gets sacked

Yea...quite depressing to see, but its clearly clever actually under the circumstances it seems, basically blaming it all on the financial problem and not himself nor the players Razz

Im counting everyday though, I know we should wait for someone better to be available to come... but I've just watched prolly the worst half I have ever of Barca basically, and that includes the occasional watch b4 Pep's era ffs...

Regardless of how capable or incapable Koeman is as a manager, it seems to me that this Barca team has several issues that a manager isn't going to be able to just come in and fix. I looked at their lineup against Cadiz, and I'm not familiar with some of these players, but that certainly doesn't look like an obvious, title challenging team.

I can see the potential in this team. I've seen glimpses of very good, quick football but the coach needs to create an environment that benefits the players and allows them to express themselves fully. Koeman is simply limited in his approach, there is no vision. He is just winging it. No one expects a trophy this season but Granada and Cadiz arent some inconceivable obstacles that no man has ever conquered.

The team is not great for sure but Koeman is holding it back 100% and not making things easier at all

What does that have to do with anything? there is the value of Clasico and there is knowing your team is not good enough to win it. so the result was expected. and when you expect a certain result you don't go bonkers when it happens.

That Barca team fielded yesterday is a lot better than GL has been making it out to be. Sure there are spots of weakness (Garcia, Roberts and RB), but they aren’t anywhere close to the team that has been described here in GL.

I wish I can agree, but Barca is very bad atm. For all the talk of our future players, Gavi, Fati, n Depay who for some reason are still being praised. Basically none of them perform whenever we face any decent opponents. Just look at our results record under Koeman, even b4 this summer. Theres no denying Koeman has been crap for a long time for us.

Betis nor Sevilla fans think their sides are world beaters but they sure as fuck want to beat one another, one way or the other.

As foreign fans, we aren't on the ground to fully understand but these guys genuinely do not like Madrid and really looks like they wanted that one. Badly.

Oh for god's sake Bill, that team is trash and you know it. Anything but a win was unacceptable.

Happy with the three points, but I expected more from the team. I wanted us to seize this opportunity and rout them. But I forgot that our team has problems of its own as well, and is perfectly capable of stinking up the place.

Honestly, La Liga has regressed badly in recent years and it's become incredibly easy to win it for any half decent team. Madrid should've taken this opportunity to add a couple more league titles to their name.

This year in particular, the level is laughable. Madrid has no excuse not to win it (just like last year).

I dont even know why people discuss anything outside of Koeman beyond the fact that he is a trash coach. I'll say it in vintage GL fashion that yes I said it before he came to Barça and clearly he is well out of his depth here. Did nothing of worthy note in his coaching career and needs to be sacked.
